Well, at least you can't be accused of not having a sense of humour.
His posts would be clever if intended ironically. Because of that and the fact his surname contains "pish", I honestly thought at first he was made up. But no, he's for real

With the shuffle around with sections, it seems a little odd that the mag section isn't at the top anymore. It's the Retro Gamer forum but the feedback has dropped 3/4 down the page! Should still be at the top. (I think).

Things have changed then? Hadn't noticed, I always just come here via the 'view new posts' option, so never see individual sections. Why rummage round when you can have the forum bring things to you?
Same here, had no idea anything had moved.

There's a simple reason why.
It was called Feedback and that came first alphabetically.
Now it's Retro Gamer Feedback so it appears lower down...

So the forum goes down for days, and there's no warning beforehand, no indication if it was planned or just a fail once it did happen, then zero comms from our 'community team' once it comes back up. Way to go Pishy and co, we feel so special now. What exactly is the purpose of the team if not at least to deal with issue like this? Or is it another case, like all the subs and distribution people who come and go, that you've come and gone?

It's been like that for years with this forum though, people come along with ideas and then disappear shortly after.
At least it is back working again.

It's a bit odd though isn't it? These American guys come in and say how the place is going to be better as they are looking after it now and then nothing for months!

Hello everyone. We did have a forum outage last week, which was due to an unplanned technical error. I was the one communicating with readers that asked about it via Twitter. The issue was resolved by our engineers on Friday night. Unfortunately, the email to say that it had been resolved was sent to yours truly - and since I was out of the office by that point and not looking at the internet in general, I didn't see it or post anything here.
The new community team manages a variety of Future's forums. I understand they've recently had a major job to do with the migration of the large and very active Tom's Guide forum to a new software platform, which would explain why they've been quiet here. I would imagine that you'll see more of them in the near future.

Twitter? Not the facebook page, where queries went unanswered? How many people follow twitter for a mag? Since it's mainly long bits of text and images that are of interest to share our hobby, twitter seems the least likely option anyone would check. I didn't even realise there was an official twit for the mag (not that I ever look at twitter anyway).

Our Twitter audience is actually considerably larger than our Facebook audience. We've got about 12,000 followers on Facebook and around 43,700 on Twitter.
Having just looked over the Facebook page, I'll cop to missing the single query about the forum that I was able to find, buried in the visitor posts sidebar. If it's any consolation, by the time it was posted, the issue was already in the hands of the engineering team.

Both Twitter and Facebook are terrible sites for having a conversation - Twitter because of brevity and Facebook because the structure sucks, no organisation just a cacophony of noise.
