Home - great animated movie with Jim Parsons (Sheldon from Big Bang Theory) playing a mistake-prone alien who "invades" Earth with his species (the Boov) but ends up helping a humans who lost their mother. Sweet and charming.

They Will Not Grow Old - Peter Jackson's superb and moving film of World War I, featuring the voices of soldiers who fought and amazing restored footage. It's no big spoiler to say that after about half an hour the footage turns from black & white to carefully restored and coloured footage, which has a huge impact.

the revenant - awesome and magnificent cinematography
alexander and the terrible horrible, not good very bad day - nice and non stuffy
the favourite - beguiling and draws you in, not an out and out comedy and it has a VERY dark streak running through it, and if you work it out .....

I watched Ralph Breaks the Internet and Bumblebee at the cinema this weekend.

The sequel to Wreck It Ralph certainly didn't disappoint, it was extremely funny throughout. Bumblebee was pretty enjoyable too although nothing that special.

Yeah my wife has been banging on about Luther for ages, I started watching it the other day but it just didn't grab me.

Blade Runner 2049. Good, built on the first film well and did it justice. For me maybe not quite the 5-star masterpiece some critics rate it as but I did enjoy it.

Luther, the recent season. A return to form making a big improvement on the 2 episode christmas special a couple of years ago. Mixed feelings about the ending but I enjoyed the season as a whole.
Pratty's trade list, updated (May 2019)!

I'm currently planning to watch every film I own (which will most likely take all of the year).

ZOG - lovely little animation shown on christmas day, adding to the long list of class stories they always produce

THE GOOD DINOSAUR - saw some of it on that day but still surprised me, sure it had the exact same ending to ICE AGE, but it was still dust-in-eye-time

IN THE HEART OF THE SEA - cruelly bodged by the critics and that actually stopped me going to see it in the cinema, but watched it twice now and love it ever more

THE GRAND TOUR ep7 - never ask them to fill your fuel tank, also that quattro v lancia 037 story was fascinating

currently the final of the DRL drone racing league

Care - BBC 1 drama starring Alison Steadman and Sheridan Smith, some amazing acting from them both as Steadman's character Mary suffers a serious stroke and her daughter (Smith) has to care for her. It also had a lot to say about social care.

I like that, appreciate the things you have. Could also be an opportunity to say... nah I don't want this.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. I pruned a few films last year, so will continue with it. Red Sparrow is going back to the shops for example.

Finally saw Split as I am intending to see Glass next weekend. Pretty good and about to be the end of a very usual trilogy.
