Black Mirror: Bandersnatch on Netflix
It's part 80s nostalgia trip, part bad acid trip, and an interactive movie where you get to make choices that affect the direction of the story. I guess that makes it a game, at least as much as Dragon's Lair is
It's also set in 1984 so that makes it a game with some retro credentials too. The name is a big clue as to what you're getting, as there are massive parallels with the story around the game of the same name that was developed by Imagine software at around the same time historically.
I won't post any major spoilers here, but there are at least 5 endings and more 80s computer game references than you can shake a stick at. Watch out for the cameo from Jeff Minter too.

The ABC Murders. Malkovich was good, as was Rupert Grint in a supporting role. Could have done without the whole immigrant angle sub-plot which I assume was a virtue signalling nod to Brexit, but the back story to Poirot was interesting.

Bird box was a decent film.
Creed was pretty good
Black klansmann I enjoyed also
Black mirror was entertaining. Loved the retro visuals eg WHSmith and good to see Minter in it

Bird Box - excellent
Bandersnatch - innovative and amazing
Holmes & Watson - so bad I can't put it into words.

Apparently 'Gasman' did the Speccy 'fake' games in that Bandersnatch episode. Was hoping it was going to be one of the current homebrew guys we know. Bet he was excited as hell to work on those (and must have been so difficult keeping it a secret).
I didnt bother checking out tons of final scenes etc, did a few when i watched it. Great episode though, hadnt really watched Black Mirror before but i'll give it a go for sure now. Sounds interesting as anything

Hangman on Netflix - good thriller that reminded me a bit of Seven. Very good cast too including Karl Urban, Brittany Snow and Al Pacino.

You can get the Nohzdyve game from here, along with information on numerous other "Tuckersoft" releases:psj3809 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 1:25 pmApparently 'Gasman' did the Speccy 'fake' games in that Bandersnatch episode. Also, one of the endings plays a snippet of code that you can load onto an emulator - or presumably a real Spectrum if you're keen enough - that'll display a QR code that links to that site. Matt "gasman" Wescott also wrote that.
I believe the rest of the games shown only existed as mockups, but they did a good job with the replicating the look, right down to the palette, colour clash and the authentic Spectrum error messages.

Ralph wrecks the internet
I want the past hour and a half back
The only bit that was funny was the bit that was seen in the trailer

From Paris With Love. Mindless but surprisingly competant actioner with a bit Training Day about it, starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys-Meyer. Travolta is actually quite good fun in it.

Only did the one ending on Bandersnatch. Will check the others out on YouTube. It was good and for this retro community had some great 8 but stuff.

Hangover 3. Weird as thought was a comedy series and was more like a dark heist thriller. Probably should have watched 1 and 2 first.
