Soulcalibur VI. It is pretty bloody good as well. Best one in the series since SCII & III as far as I'm concerned. Everything that was awful about SCV (so most of it then) has been binned.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

I'm on a PS4 backlog clearance binge:

I've just finished Yakuza 0 which is bat censored mental. It's a brawler. It's a mahjong simulator. It's a gambling game. It's a dating game. It's everything at all times. There are so many faces to this game you cannot pin it down. The story is so serious and then the next minute I'm in a mini stealth mission to buy porn mags for a young lad from a vending machine(it's set in the 80s) Out Run, Space Harrier and Super Hang On are all playable. So much to do. I put 50 + hours into this game and ended with 27% completion. 27%... Amazing game.

I've also just finished AC:Syndicate Jack the ripper dlc. This was great fun, and a nice take on the legend of Jack.

But this is the currently playing thread so... I'm playing Far Cry 5 dlc. I finished the main campaign with a platinum trophy back in June and now all the season pass dlc is out I'm going through that. So far I'm just playing the hours of darkness Vietnam inspired one. It's a lot of fun so far.

Next up is Ghost Recon Wildlands. A mate and I started playing this in co-op back in January. We got 70 hours in and then took a short(4 month break) and now we're back in it. We could have completed it at 50 hours but he's such a completionist every area has to be cleared out 100%. I reckon we'll have it done by Christmas.

I'm also dabbling in Bayonetta on the Switch, but I seem to be stuck at a broken bridge on chapter 2 but can't for the life of me remember how to get past it.

WipeOut 2048 on the Vita - good game. Graphics look amazing on the small screen. Only problem is there's too much going on and it's too fast at times. I thought it was just me getting old but the reviews seems to back me up.

Game Gear Shinobi - I've had this since it came out but never finished it. I have it on my phone (with a bluetooth controller) and am determined to finish it this year. Thankfully the emulator can save your progress. Not like the Game Gear original where you had to play the whole thing in one sitting.

Since nightshift on an oil rig can be soooooo busy, I've just spent the best part of 3 hours playing through the Mega Drive version of Speedball 2 via an online emulator site. Still dominated it! Never played it with a keyboard though, hard going on the fingers.

Online? You work offshore and you don't have a laptop stuffed with games and movies?

Wish I could say we weren't busy on nights, but when we're out it's 24 hour ops, no chance for a break, and usually I'm busy writing stuff up when everyone else has downtime :(

That said, my last short trip was mainly environmental survey stuff, so it does happen.

Ha, don''t get me wrong, it can get crazy busy sometimes, depends what exactly the job is. I do appreciate how much harder a lot of other folk have to work out here, I couldn't really have it much better.

To be fair though I should stuff some more games onto my hard drive so I can plug them into the lab computer when it's quiet, especially since having a networked computer out here than can actually access ANYTHING remotely interesting is a luxury. I am actually stocked up on movies, but since Netflix and Amazon Prime came along I've not really been torrenting anything so none of it is that new, should really find out who the local movie sharer is on this boat and get some copied over  .

Should probably get started on my handover actually, my 23 days are up on Thursday.

In my 35 years of gaming I’ve never played a game that is so unpleasant to play. It’s a horrible game environment, it actively hurts your right trigger finger as you desperately try to get any speed going, it couldn’t be more brown, it explains nothing and yet punishes you for everything and it’s almost unfathomably dull. Like in the worst way.

It’s too hostile to be relaxing and too one dimensional to be exciting. It’s like they came up with a recipe for anti-fun.

Actually, Superman by Tynesoft on the Speccy was less fun.

Playing on the Neo Geo mini which I think is a brilliant system. Definitely recommend anyone to buy the additional controllers though.

New Zealand Story (MAME)

Love this game and play it a lot, only discovered about 6 months ago that there are 'warp gates' in the game. If you see yourself firing and the bullets end 'short' its because theres an invisible warp gate you can activate, keep shooting and it'll appear and make you jump ahead say from 1-3 to 2-2.

All those years i played it and never realised !

Strange one that. I also have never heard of the warp gates or read about them when a feature has been done on the game.
