Cool! There's definitely a market for these things, and more quality ones are most welcome

Popped into CEX in Newcastle today and they had 8 of them at £180 each. Guessing that they will be there for a while.

I think by the sounds of it that this was always a short term product. probably had deals and contracts in place for other companies to supply a certain amount of components etc.

All I can suggest for those frustrated they've missed out and really want one, Ali express. There are some there that look virtually indentical to the mini NES, with the standard 400in1 NES multicarts built in. It looks the part, with a great amount of NES titles in it, and it won't break the bank. Around $30 US including shipping.
If some are taking advantage of demand and driving the cost up, I'd prefer that personally.

The NES Mini will be returning to stores June 29th. That and the SNES Classic will be in-stock throughout the year.

Also if you thought the Famicom Mini needed more Shōnen Jump, there's a golden one coming with a new line of games.

That's great news for those that missed out and really want one...I hope not many resorted to eBay scalpers and can enjoy buying one at retail

Yeah, but they really need to cut some sort of deal with Microsoft/Rare for it to hit its full potential. Otherwise there'll be a lot of people just looking and sighing at what could have been.

I'd say longer HDMI and power cord would be better than getting up to press the reset button every time you want to save state or switch game.

Totally agree there, it still has some terrific Nintendo titles and would make the ultimate plug n play multiplayer retro games night unit...but it would be bittersweet without the likes of some Rare titles, when you rattle off what you'd miss out on

Unless I’m forgetting something wouldn’t the only restricted Rare games that would realistically appear be Banjo 1 and 2?

Conker’s not going to make an appearance given the adult themes and Goldeneye is unlikely because of licensing issues.
