From The Forum issue 177 - 2018 retro wishes
ellho freints! We're gearing up to go home for a break, but before we do, we'd like one more nourishing plateful of your food for thought. So, with that in mind:
What are your retro gaming wishes for 2018?
This can be anything and everything you want, from that long-awaited digital release of Panzer Dragoon Saga to the simple hope that the Spectrum Next is everything you wanted it to be. Personally, I'm hoping for a plug and play console to truly rival Nintendo's offerings.
As usual, if you reply here, your words might end up in the Mailbag section of the magazine.

I'm hoping the Spectrum Next becomes readily available (and I don't mean via an Ebay rip off merchant) and that it lives up to it's promise.

More games like Thimbleweed Park. Not only did it scratch a nostalgic itch in magnificent fashion, it improved upon the classic point n' click adventure in a variety of ways, and one superb game like this is simply not enough. 10 more please.

I am hoping that the Atari Box actually turns out to be something really good that truly revives the once great brand!

...A Vega + release...?
Actually, I am interested in the Atari Box, not much has been said of course, but I would love a true retro machine that really gave us all Ataris history and some real quality as many of these retro things are overpriced and cheaply made. If I had a wishlist it would be that it could emulate all the old Ataris from VCS to Jag. A guy can dream....
Probably more realistic I would like a Mini N64 to go with NES/SNES

Shining force 3 book 1 to 3 and the additional stuff all physical release as a current gen budget release.
That is all (unless they do the same with Shenmue and Panzer Dragoon saga)

I wish for Monkey Island 3 and 4 to appear on GOG.

I've thought this for a while, but I would love to see Nintendo join the fortnightly / monthly collection and magazine market, like the Eaglemoss collections. With game and watches. How cool to be able to get new game and watch collections how they originally were, with an accompanying magazine with concept art and design etc.
...well, you did say it could be anything I wanted

Nintendo to release a Nintendo Classic: Game Boy. Slim with modern screen, super long battery life and connection to the store for downloading games.
Official Dreamcast Mini with attachable GD drive (sold separately) with online Sega store.
