Games genres that you just don't like
I have a total hate for FPS. Maybe it'll be a completely different matter in VR, but so far I have always hated all of them, starting from the old Doom/Quake/etc, technical and graphical improvements didn't make them any better for me.
Is there one or more kind of games that never worked for you?

RPG. RTS. Strategy. Simulation. FPS except TimeSplitters. Most sports games (unless they are really arcades like Hyper Sport or Epyx style).

RPG's - any style.

I like a broad selection of games ranging from arcade, simulation, strategy, adventure and role playing genres, but there are some type of games I rarely or never play which include the likes of manager sims (I already dislike most sports games and watching statistics about a football match would be the epitome of boredom for me), visual novels (does anyone past teen ages play those?), dancing/singing games (as niche as they are these days, I must say all the Guitar Heros and Rock Bands went over my head as if nothing happened - and I like rock music) and some other games I just have no interest in.

I can't stand games like World Of Warcraft, mostly because I'm rubbish at them. I'm also crap at games like Populus, I just can't get myself into them.

I've never really liked First Person Shooters.
While I still love Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D and Doom, since these early classics I've never found much fun in the genre.
Even modern 'greats' such as HALO and Medal Of Honor leave me somewhat cold.
They all seem like variations of a theme, albeit with a difference in location or enemy and I can't play them for very long.
Whenever I'm looking for games to play/buy/download I try to avoid the FPS.
I'm not against having the occasional quick blast with a friend or two now and again, but I tend to get bored fairly quickly.

Falling/matching tile puzzle games. A complete waste of gaming technology's potential. Tetris is not the greatest game ever made, it wouldn't make my top 1000.
Also, while to be fair I've not really played any of them, I just can't get excited about all these new retro style 2D indy games.

FPS haters should try Timesplitters 2 or TS: Future Perfect. If you don't like them then you truly don't like FPS games.

2D Fighting Games. Such as Street Fighter 2 and all the similar ones (King of Fighters, etc.). I have always found I get bored of them very quickly. I really tried to get into SF2 on the SNES because it was such a good conversion. There's a whole bunch of hours I'll never get back. To me SF2 is the number one overrated game of all time.
Strangely, despite generally preferring 2D retro gaming, I quite like 3D fighting games, such as Soul Blade (Calibur). I think the dodging in and out of the screen adds to the fun immensely for some unexplainable reason.
I do like IK+ though.

Indeed. Two of my favourite FPS!

RPGs - I cannot stand them and have never found one I like.
To a lesser extent platform games as there are a few that I like, mostly of the single screen variety though.

I cant stand RPGs either, they do absolutely nothing for me.

FPS and most sports games (football and tennis not included) that don't have a twist to them.
So for example I know that I would enjoy Splatoon and TimeSplitters but COD games bore the hell out of me. With sports games I enjoy the likes of Pro Evo/Fifa and Virtua Tennis but for the likes of racing games I only play games such as Mario Kart and Street Racer.

Text Adventures.
It didn't stop me devouring the reviews in ZZap!64 (because I read the hell out of those things).
Sports. If I wanted to do sports I would do actual sports.
