Has trading died?
Looking at the recent trading threads , it seems that trading has died a death ? as the lack of replies for goodies shows, including one of mine asking for a ballpark figure which was never replied too.

It's because it's in the wrong section, should be back in Off topic...

Most likely this and that people on here will pretty much have everything they want now in regards to retro. The stuff that comes up I tend to already own or don't own the system. I've also started using Facebook groups to widen the customer base, especially local groups where I can arrange collection or delivery saving the hassle of posting.

The recent user bans won't have helped matters.

New threads have been created but not replied to as oldtimer says.
It was a great addition to the forum and proved to be very popular.
As Antiriad says, a lot of the 'top' traders have gone.

Trading, i.e. swaps or do you mean selling to other members? I've not heard of anyone straight up swapping in yonks, but I have bought recently, maybe it was on RetroCollect.

Re: Has trading died?
I think I'm at a point where I have most of what I set out to get. Not only that, the rise in prices EVERYWHERE make buying up dupes as trade fodder less frequent. CEX now take a lot of retro stuff and give a pretty decent price for a lot of it. I took a yellowed Snes and Saturn, both unboxed, to them and had £115 store credit. Trade prices have come down a tad in the past few weeks, but still, fairly painless transaction
Re: Has trading died?
I would agree, 90% of the stuff i buy from car boot sales gets taken to CEX. I always get store credit and then buy something for my collection, it works out great, no hassle and I get the item I want cheap.

Re: Has trading died?
I am exactly the same - perfectly happy with the games I have, don't really need anymore and even if I did, some asking prices are so stupid, especially given the quality, that it's pointless. I'm more interested in playing games, reading about them (thanks RG) and stuff like game music (like the excellent stuff that Data Discs have put out).Black Ridge wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2017 4:16 pmI think I'm at a point where I have most of what I set out to get. Trading ,buying ,swop or sell , i miss that aspect of the forum, im not really one for buying off ebay although obviously i have done in the past, but as you say . wrong section and top traders having left or been banned hasnt helped in the slightest,
Cant we have the trading corner back in the original section ???

Re: Has trading died?
I've put mine on hold because I just have other priorities and sold/donated everything I didn't use before I moved last year. I still want to expand my collection of boxed SNES games, but it will just have to wait.

Re: Has trading died?
I also miss the RG trading, as I had some brilliant deals from people off here. Problem is now if I want anything it's EBay only and all the shysters like Spence overcharging
