Reasons to get a PS3
Why should I get a PS3 if I already have an XBox 360?
This is the question that's been ruminating in my mind. What system exclusives are there? What does the PlayStation store have to offer that the Microsoft one doesn't? What am I missing out on?
My money is burning a hole in my pocket and is urgently looking for excuses to splash out on this system. Please help.

I have a few PS3's but only use it to test games, you can pick them up very cheap now, my last one was £40, boxed with 53 games.
It is a nice system, but the 360 in my opinion is much better.

YMMV with these recs, but eh I'll list some
There are remasters of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus for great experiences and atmosphere (puzzle platformer and boss rush respectively)
The Atelier series of JRPGs for diabetes
The Last Of Us for solid action and feels
God of War for hacks and slashes
You can get hold of Persona 3 too. That's one of the best JRPGs I've played
Project Diva if you like rhythm games

Depends if you have a PS4 or not really, but in terms of exclusives that haven't already been mentioned I'd recommend Starhawk, Puppeteer, the later Motorstorm games, Rain and there's the Time Crisis compilation if you get Move.English Invader wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2017 6:03 amWhy should I get a PS3 if I already have an XBox 360?

Well, you do also get a Blu Ray player out of it too. In-fact if you have a 3DTV, I think it can even do 3D Movies too.
Personally I prefer how the 360 was set up and whatnot (Not a huge fan of the PS3 Menu and trophies are not as good as achievements), but there's a handle of exclusives and sometimes you can get a lot of games cheaper then the 360 version due to PS4's lack of backward compatibility (Black Ops 2 for example, £6 on PS3, £28 on 360 according to CEX.
)
My collection isnt huge, just mostly stuff I find on the cheap or just a poor excuse to playthrough certain games again.
Off the top of my head, there are quite a few Tales of games that the 360 never saw if those are your thing.

The Witcher : Enhanced Edition

They seem notorious for breaking some friends off mine have had several PS3's break between them, I've also had a phat break on me! Most of the exclusives such as Last of Us have been tarted up with HD remakes with all dlc in the disc. Think only Ico, Longest Day and lots of the RPG's are still PS3 exclusives along with the moves Razing Storm, Deadstorm pirates. Almost forgot Heavenly Guardian I think it's brilliant a lot of people probably won't like it
Personally I'd buy the PS4 as the PS3 blue ray is to unreliable

Get a couple of Move controllers and there are some decent light gun options on there. HOTD 3 and 4 and a Time Crisis.
I've got a 3D telly and Motorstorm: Apocalypse is amazing on that.
Much more 3D support than the PS4.

All the PS2 HD remakes such as;
Shadow of the Colossus
Zone of the Enders
God of War?
All the others I can't recall just now!
It's a shame the PS4 didn't do backwards comparability. I've switched a few of my PS3 games over to X360 via download on my XBone (just the AAA crossovers like Dead Space, Fallout etc)

For me, it just feels so soulless compared to the first two Playstation consoles, owned one four times now, and it just doesn't seem to click.
Though personally, I don't think they will ever top the original Playstation, those were the days! Though I will say the Little Big Planet franchise is great, highly recommend them.

Re: Reasons to get a PS3
I love my PS3, it has all the games I love playing, the online is pretty stable (when its not being hacked!) and I don't feel the need at the moment to replace my PS3 with a PS4, though my son keeps badgering me to make the swap! I find the X-Box, be it original or 360, a bit soulless, too grown-up and serious. I've only had one PS3 stop working on me, my original 40gb Fat version I bought the year after it was released, and that is a drive fault so repairable. Its Blu-ray playback is pretty good too, but I've not ventured into modding any of mine so can't comment on that.
Its small, its fast, its just gone past! www.clublupo.co.uk

My PS3 collection is probably my most cherished.
It has pretty much all of the 360 games plus so much more. I've got it squashed into about 3 cupboards at the moment.
