console battle Q9 3DO vs ATARI JAGUAR

3DO vs Atari Jaguar

For a long long time it would have been easily the 3DO, but started to enjoy the Jaguar a bit more lately. So still the 3DO for me but not by a lot.

You could probably argue the 3DO has the better commercial library but the Jaguar is still being supported with new games all the time, so that makes it much more attractive to people these days.

I voted for the Jaguar. Mainly for the reason that I don't have much experience with the 3DO. I have however, played Tempest on the Jaguar. So there!

3do because I won one in a competition. had need for speed, total eclipse, samurai showdown and street fighter 2 on it.

jaguar had nothing I liked the look of. played cybermorph a bit in a Boots store. thought it sucked.

I have always loved Atari, but the with the Jag they messed up big time.
3do wa something different and the stepping stone for the PS1 so I vote that

3DO for me. The Jag has about the worst controller ever conceived. It has some great games though. But I enjoyed the 3DO more - more games and almost PC like.

Luxury compared to using a Fairchild controller. Admittedly I've never used one, but it looks like hell to use. Worst controllers I've used were the stick that came with the C64 (worse even than that with the Amstrad/+2) and the Dreamcast - any controller that has the lead coming out of the 'bottom' of the pad is seriously messed up. Equal to the Dreamcast is the GC pad which is a horrible mess with 'squidgy' buttons.

The fairchild has an excuse
It was more or less the first and its actually quite good
For both left and right handers, full range of movement, give one a try sometime as it has a PONG variant where the paddles can be angled (by twisting), moved up and down by pulling up and down

Id argue that Tempest 2k is one of the best games ever


But its been ported to other things since
More or less all major good 3DO titles have been ported and that bloody stupid idea of having one controller port and having to daisy chain them was bloody stupid

Im gonna put it all down to the port of DOOM
