Wonder how much anime that got released on VHS in the UK back in the day still has yet to get a DVD release?

Not that it matters in this day and age with the internet etc...

There is something great about the artwork on VHS boxes still to this day.

Theres actually quite a lot, the Manga "classics" (some on that label are a bit pish) line released a fair few (own them all bar Sword of truth), annoyingly some REALLY good ones never did, some have come out on DVD, but not over here
Fist of the north star, and the rest of the series (think it stopped at episode 30, just as it got really good), the OVA has two endings
Battle Angel Alita
Odin
Mad Bull (Think it has but US only)
3X3 eyes (criminal)
Legend of the four kings

Buying them on VHS for the "Comfy" factor, sure a lot are on Youtube and I could probabliy attach my Laptop to my CRT via S-Video, but I like to own the real thing. Plus theres the off chance I could stumble upon something rare, or that one with teh clip that HAS BEEN BUGGING ME FOR 20 YEARS!!
I shall become the keeper of the tapes
Image
The only thing missing is that im not watching them at 2am on Channel 4

But the intro on "Manga video" ones is still awesome

A lot more than I thought then.

Good old channel 4. That was my second exposure to anime after seeing Akira on BBC 2 many many years ago.

I get the wanting to own the actual thing, most of us here do. The only thing I found in the wild round here was cyber city odeo 808 on dvd but the Hong Kong release in cash generator for 20p. Shame it's not the same soundtrack as the English release. That I had to download from youtube as I don't think that had a release on DVD here if I'm not mistaken.

Today's charity shop hustle
A Sony MDS JE330 minidisc deck for a tenner
A Bosch belt sander £2
Sky HD box with a 1TB hard drive (swiftly removed for storage purposes as I dont have Sky) £2
Zoolander Blu Ray £1
Torchwood Children of Earth £1.50
A pair of Powerline ethernet plugs brand new £3

From Facebook, a Tanglewood Rosewood Reserve acoustic with case for a mere £60. Straight up the nicest looking, feeling, playing and sounding guitar I have ever played, and I used to have a vintage Martin. Just need to get a soundhole pick up for it at some point.

From eBay, a 2010 Macbook (boxed and in proper nice nick) for £170
Going Solo...................

Is it ironic to buy a Wombles DVD from a charity shop?

its considerably lighter than the korg kp3, and only slightly bigger, it can run off batteries too! so you can write music on this while on the train or bus or in the park or wherever (although knowing me I probably won't take it on public transport lol). i'm pretty chuffed with it overall.
here is a breakdown of what it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GP_hvP_PXM and for those of us with shorter attention spans a demo; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvn7waPvseo

I have just agreed to buy a Cheap MDF rubbish!

This will complete the making the house I bought nice plan!

Last year was bathroom. Well, showerroom I guess, as well who want's a bath!

Should be installed next move. Am providing a cooker/hub/extractor/fridge myself as I think I can get them for circa £1000 for what I want.

Will be nice to not have to get a little oven out of the cupboard to cook stuff!

Finally bought a new car to replace my Clio that I have had since 2004 when I bought it new.

Seeing as my son is getting older I needed a more family sized one. Got a Focus 1.6 TDCi in red. First registered December 2013 and it's only just got over 8000 miles on the clock.

It's an ex mobility car that is essentially new in condition. Thought it was a bargain for under £9000

a relatively inexpensive effect pedal, tc electronics echobrain analog delay. it can get quite wild when you crank the repeats up! great build quality, all metal feels like it would survive a nuclear blast, or a lot of foot stomps! :)

Canon Eos1300d - from Cex in Stratford . To replace my ageing 30d. Ok not struck on the lightweight body but hopefully that will come with time.
It wasn't a light decision as I had to part with 3/4 of my trade in vouchers for it but I'm hoping to appreciate it lots. My son came out with me and used my old 30d with some pretty good results.

It's a good job I built that trade in voucher up while I was working.
