Re: RIP <Insert celebrity>
I'm incredibly sad about this one. He didn't do particularly well for England (though he was done any favours with the squad he was left after Italia 90), but he was a good, honest club manager.dste wrote:Former England, Lincoln, Watford and Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor at the age of 72.

Re: RIP <Insert celebrity>
The type of long-ball (or "long pass" as he called it) football Graham Taylor favoured didn't seem to suit international football as much when the best teams held onto the ball for much longer periods, and when the pass back rule came in after Euro 92, the goalie couldn't do a big punt up the park as often either. You can't argue with his amazing record at Watford though.paranoid marvin wrote:I'm incredibly sad about this one. Oh, and the specky guy out of Bronski Beat has died too. "Smalltown Boy" always gets shown on Vintage TV cause it's a good track, but it's quite a groundbreaking video as well.

I thought gordon kaye was already dead, for some reason i thought he was in an accident and dies of brain trauma. so double shock of sorts then.
Re: RIP <Insert celebrity>
He was in an accident in the early 90s but he kept working once he'd recovered - they even made more episodes of 'Allo 'Allo.
There's also an incredibly obscure but actually pretty good BBC sketch show from about 15 years ago called Revolver that he was in with a bunch of other senior comedy stars. They're all on YouTube and worth checking out.

Actress Mary Tyler Moore has died aged 80!
She also produced show like Hill Street Blues, St Elseware & Remington Steele.
All the shows has a ending logo similar to MGM's but with a Kitten.

We also lost Jaki Liebezeit, the drummer and co-founder of the Krautrock band Can, earlier this week.
He made some amazing music that, despite the early records being nearly 50 years old now, still sounds rather futuristic.

If it was possible for me to wipe my memory of something and watch it again for the first time, it would be Alien. Imagine seeing that chestburster scene having no idea of what was about to happen
