Re: Charity Shops
Last Sunday, I found some rare stuff at a few charity shops which was pleasing as it was the first time I had seen old Nes and old Sega stuff being sold.
Gadget Racers CIB PS2
Road Rash Boxed for Master System
Lethal Enforcers Cart SNES
Michael Jordan Chaos in Windy City Cart SNES

XIII (Gamecube)
GTA Liberty City Stories (PS2)
Usual £1.49 price. Missed out on that decent Wolverine game for Gamecube while I returned home to fetch moneys.
Unusual thing about XIII. Inside there was a piece of note paper, which at first I thought was a chest code but just read "GREAT+UNDERRATED". Nice of the former owner to leave a short review for me.

It's always worth having a look through if there's a big tub of random cables. I found an Amiga SCART lead the other day for a quid.
Re: Charity Shops
A good find as I've noticed the Main Pokemon games have gone up in price since Go's success. Think CeX were charging something like £38-42 for the BW games....slacey1070 wrote:Time crisis 3 ps2 £1.50 - it's in absolutely mint condition, with manual and other inserts.

Re: Charity Shops
I've managed to pick a few up lately, one from a charity shop, the rest from FB groups. Got a bundle for a tenner - 7 games if I recall.
Surprised to see Black 2 cart only going for over £20.

Re: Charity Shops
Ive noticed a scary increase in stupid prices on retro stuff in charity shops of late, only reason i can see is that before they were housed with the blue rinse brigade selling "those space invader games" for 25p, these days the job centre is making people work in these shops to keep receiving dole, these are 20-40yr olds who seem to be keen on pricing things at retail prices.
I picked up a few games and there was no price sign anywhere, my fault taking 6 games thinking they were a pound each, ps2 titles. Guy with guyliner and stretchy ears said they were £5 EACH!!...put them all back.

Re: Charity Shops
10 years ago, when I was on the dole, I cleaned up on VHS tapes at 20p a time. When you're living on £60 a week, charity shops are a vital lifeline. I imagine it's the management pushing for retail rather than the slave labour.RetroAerosmith wrote:Ive noticed a scary increase in stupid prices on retro stuff in charity shops of late, only reason i can see is that before they were housed with the blue rinse brigade selling "those space invader games" for 25p, these days the job centre is making people work in these shops to keep receiving dole, these are 20-40yr olds who seem to be keen on pricing things at retail prices.
