New retro bowling video game channel
Hello I am a first-time poster, long-time lurker. I have started a new retro bowling video game channel on YouTube. In the upcoming days and weeks I will be playing all of the various bowling games throughout the history of video and computer games. Feel free to check it out, thanks!

Hi patmanqc - welcome to the forum!
By all means pop in and talk about your youtube channel, but please get involved in the forum... as a 'long time lurker' you should be aware that the majority of first time posters that link to their sites/blogs/youtube get an edit. Just looks like spam otherwise.
Hope to see you contribute something - retro bowling seems like a good discussion to start with

Re: New retro bowling video game channel
Channel is easy to find on Youtube anyway, same username.
A couple to cover, since you've already done 10th Frame on C64...
PBA Tour Bowling 2001 - Dreamcast
Brunswick Pro Bowling - PSP
Strike! - Spectrum
Wii Sports Bowling

Sorry about that, please PM me for a link.
Thanks for the advice on the upcoming games. PBA tour 2001 is still one of my favorite games to play and is going to be covered in upcoming video, Brunswick for the PSP is also another really well-done bowling game and I am looking forward to that one again too.

Oh and speaking of retro bowling discussions I actually had a letter published in Retro Gamer magazine regarding the game 10th Frame and in particular Access Software.

League Bowling on the Neo Geo and Wii Sports Bowling are the kings. Nothing comes close to either, though I did have a lot of fun with the bowling minigame on Super Monkey Ball.

You can buy my book here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolfshead-ebook ... =wolfshead
NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, Wii U, GB, GBC, GBA SP, DS Lite, 3DS, MS, MD, Saturn, DC, GG, Xbox, 360
Re: New retro bowling video game channel
League bowling is good for a fast-paced arcade game, not entirely accurate to the real game of bowling. WII sports bowling on the other hand is really well done especially for a pickup and play game that anybody can learn. Super monkey Ball bowling is good as well and I plan on doing a feature on that as well as Tekken Bowl in the near future.killbot wrote:League Bowling on the Neo Geo and Wii Sports Bowling are the kings. Re: New retro bowling video game channel
There's an Animaniacs one on the PS1 IIRC that was reasonably good fun.

Strike! on Spectrum is worth covering because it's so badpatmanqc wrote:Thanks for the advice on the upcoming games. Truly terrible, to start with you'll be lucky to throw the ball down the lane, but once you figure it out you can get a strike every time as the mechanics are so simplistic.
I only persevered as I liked 10th Frame and had spent my hard earned £1.99 on Strike!
You'll find it at World of Spectrum. If you need a Spectrum emulator, ZX Spin is free and very good.

Re: New retro bowling video game channel
I will definitely check it out, I am familiar with the, or 64 version but it looks like the spectrum version is pretty much identical aside from the graphics. Thanks for the heads up.Antiriad2097 wrote:Strike! on Spectrum is worth covering because it's so badpatmanqc wrote:Thanks for the advice on the upcoming games. Re: New retro bowling video game channel
Is actually called Animaniacs 10 Pin Alley, it's sort of a sequel to the original game only with the Animaniacs license slapped on it. The graphics are a little bit better and I will do that video in the future. Thanks for the heads upLiamh1982 wrote:There's an Animaniacs one on the PS1 IIRC that was reasonably good fun.

Hello my friends today I play Super Bowling for the Super Nintendo system. This game really reminds me of League Bowling for the Neo-Geo arcade unit. Hope you enjoy it let me know what you think thanks!
