I hope the game will have massive levels with tons of collectibles (cruical + optional ones).

Looks like they took some inspiration after Chameleon Twist and Spyro The Dragon for the character design. I though it would be an elephant and a blackbird duo...

But it's nice to see former Rare guys returning to former platforming glory. Game is announced for all modern (PS4, XBO, PC, WiiU) home systems.

Well looks like the kickstarter campaign is already a massive success, with the dev team receiving over 1.5 mil dollars in less than 24 hours. Looks like all the big publishers who thought that a cute 3D platformer couldn't succeed anywhere else than a Nintendo system were completely wrong.

You can reserve your copy by pledging only 15 dollars for PC version and 22$ for a console of your choice.

Way, way too early to call the game a success. The game hasn't even been made yet. To touch down on planet Reality for a second, right now it's a successful kickstarter that has potential for a relatively small number of fans. The "big publishers" aren't exactly going to be crying in their beer over the fact yet another indie project has smashed its funding goals. They've seen it all before, just like we have.

There is going to be a "N64 edition" too, comming on a N64 cartridge and with a "N64 shader mode". This version will set you back for only 340 pounds (~530$/470€). Of course it won't work on an actual N64 (that could have happened only if some crazy guy would make a total conversion hack for Banjo-Kazooie :P ) but you'll probably be able to slot it into your USB drive. Will probably also make for a desirable collector's item.

I always thought that Conker's Bad Fur Day was more of a spiritual successor - albeit with a cursing squirrel, Greg and tons of movie references.

I am glad it has smashed it funding goal. As a backer I hope this is not another broken age where we end up waiting a really dam long time to get our game.

Got really high hopes for this one. Big BK fan (I actually just finished it a couple months ago on my N64).

This is certainly a genre that needs a lot of love and BK had it in spades.

First thoughts - I'm not crazy about the iguana. Not instantly loveable to me like Banjo or Conker was. Maybe that's because I've got Chameleon Twist and Gex in my head straight away which, although both decent, weren't in the same league as BK.

Early days though. Hopefully they'll refine him to be more instantly loveable.

Laylee's pretty good. Again, doesn't shine as much or as instantly as Kazooie for me, but there you go.

Day one purchase though - it can't be as bad as the PS4's current 3rd person platform game The Last Tinker:

That was so censored. Waste of money.

Sounds like a day 1 purchase. Wonder if it'll make it to the 3ds?
