Great cover. Looking forward to buying it later this week if possible.

Picked up the arcade book in Smith's today. So it exists in the wild.

I wasn't expecting to see a new Amiga bookazine so soon after the revised edition. Several copies of Vol 3 were in Milton Keynes earlier today.

Can't you just order it online ? You don't want to wait till it sells out
Re: Bookazines / Specials
I'd agree with that, saves the hassle of looking for itpsj3809 wrote:Can't you just order it online ? You don't want to wait till it sells out

Last time I ordered something, it never came. They took my money then forgot to tell me it had sold out. After waiting ages I eventually got my money back but I had to chase it. I prefer to buy it in a shop now!

Re: Bookazines / Specials
Ive just picked up a 'consoles through time' bookazine to read on a train down to pompey yesterday.
The usual article rehash but a good compilation as im sure i missed one or two of the articles and its more interesting in a way as there arent article types i dont care about whilst i get to articles i do like but thats the case with most of these bookazines.

Have you got a link to that, is it an Imagine one ?
Been pretty quiet on the Games TM/RG apps, normally theres a fair few new mini emags but not much. New Playstation one but i think thats just an update

Re: Bookazines / Specials
Hey folks,
I am thinking about picking up a few of the latest bookazines. I am a subscriber, owning every Retro Gamer issue starting with #101. However, I live in the US, where is it hard to find the bookazines regularly, and it is relatively expensive to order online, especially with the shipping cost. Is there any content in the bookazines that has not already appeared in the magazine? I mean the platform books (Amiga, NES, Arcade, etc.), the Hardware Handbooks, the Annuals, and the Collections. I think the answer is "no," which means I won't be missing anything by just keeping (and reading) my subscription, but I want to make sure. Thanks!

I rhink its an old one as its listed as 'volume 1' whilst there is a vol 2. This vol 1 version i have says 'volume 1 second revised addition' on the inside cover and is copyright 2016 so god knows!
Re: Bookazines / Specials
To somewhat answer my own question... I compared some articles from past issues to recent bookazines, and indeed the content is almost identical. There are occasionally some cosmetic changes to layout, but that is about it. This was not an exhaustive search, so I would be curious to hear if anyone has seen different content.Mauricio wrote:Is there any content in the bookazines that has not already appeared in the magazine?
Of course, having the articles for a single topic collected together in a bookazine is quite handy... which is why I already have a few myself.

Re: Bookazines / Specials
From what I gather there is not new content in the bookazines, they are just collections of older articles based on a format.
WANTED: ANY SNES or GAMEBOY GAMES, OR EMPTY BOXES, INSTRUCTION MANUALS or WHITE INNER TRAYS, going for FULL SETS of both.

Spotted this week in the shops... there's the Second edition of NES / Master System bookzine. I can't tell you top of my head what articles (if any) are different from the last bookazine
