Today - I tried some of Wynchwood's Arrowaine - a mild at 3.6% ABV. Very dark(like a mild should be) - and with a roasted malts and toffee like flavour. Not bad. I had from the cask - I know a lot of their stuff is available in bottles - it's rare to see them served in pubs(at least the ones I have been to) from the cask.

Not really into Wychwood beers...

But I am into this 'can' of Beerd Brewery 'Cubic' 4.5% triple hop pale ale. Beerd brewery are an offshoot of Bath Ales and exceptionally good :D

Tonight... Guinness Foreign Extra 7.5% - Nice :D

If normal Guinness had anything near the flavour of this then it would be a good product. It doesn't so it isn't!

On a limb here, but what do you think of their Golden Ale?

It's different. I can't say that I think that much of it. I do like the new Porters they introduced(both the Dublin and Jamaican ones). It's okay - but not that interesting.

I think that I have tried that one a long time ago, at a Belgian restaurant.

The Golden Ale was hardly offensive but it was pretty dull. Like Katz, I really enjoy the two 'Porter' varieties (especially the West Indies bottle).

Would like to try this Foreign Extra sometime...is it widely available? I had the Guinness 'XX' bottle and didn't taste that different to me.

Pretty sure we used to sell something called Guinness Nigerian Export at work. No idea what that one's about

The Guinness Foreign Extra was from Sainsburys - So I imagine it is widely available.

I've been out for a Gourmet Burger at a place called 7Bone in Bournemouth - fantastic burgers. But they have a really good range of ales in cans/bottles! I enjoyed the always amazing Beavertown Gamma Ray, such an excellent IPA. :D

Got an oddity tonight. Just been in to lock up at work and grab a 4 pint take-out...

Vibrant Forest Brewery - Salted Liquorice Stout 5.1%
Can taste the Liquorice - and as odd as it sounds, can taste the salt too! Not 100% sure I can drink 4 pints though :? Fortunately my eldest son is here to drink a couple of them
