Yep, pre-ordered a red one, as it's a bit like the best looking 8-bit machine of them all - the Oric Atmos.

I've held off buying the first VEGA as I thought it's a bit expensive for what it is, as I can emulate all the games and am considering building a Raspberry PI based plug-in-joystick emulation machine of my own.

But to make it portable, with TV plug-in capability, and a choice of colours especially for backers - I had to go for that.

'fraid not. It looks pretty & it warms my cockles to see a pseudo-official Sinclair product out there... but it's at least 10 years too late & £60 too dear for what it actually does.

It came close, but 'Ultimate'ly it's a no. Lack of keyboard again is my only real issue, until that's resolved I'll stick to ZXDS.

No, as much as I like the Sectrum this seems like another cash grab, the price isnt to bad, but a hacked PSP is cheaper

Looks nice...but way too expensive. My ds and psp do more for less cost.

Hope it's successful though.

No - a flawed follow-up to a very flawed device

No thanks. It looks OK apart from the (lack of) d-pad.
But I guess it's the same software (and games).
And the screen quality is unknown as yet.
And it's too expensive.

I'm also in the no camp. I bought the Vega and its been a huge disappointment. The quality of the built in games are poor and the inclusion of so many adventure games when you don't have a useable keyboard function is just stupid. I like the idea of a portable Vega very much as a concept, but I can do the same with a bigger and better screen on a psp.

Spectaculator and my "modified" PSP do the job just fine...

Yes. Looking forward to get the black one

If a dedicated machine like this came out for say just the C64 or Atari those people would get it for sure. £100 is a good price. Manufactured in the UK, small indie dev doing this not a huge manufacturer. I'm stunned when people expect something like this to be £40 or something

The second something like this comes out it just seems everyone wants to be so negative about it.

A new game is £60 these days, £100 is nothing really.

It's a yes from me. Nice new item to play retro spectrum games on. Looks cool and at 100 quid its not expensive, like Laird says it's not much more than a game these days.
