If you could buy and reignite a classic japanese developer
There are a few Japanese Companies that have all but disappeared or swallowed by a bigger company, yet created or publishes some of the best games of all time.
you buy the developer and have full power to update all its classic franchises which one would it be.
Which one of these would it be and what games would you do first.

Konami.
The way they've gone wrong of late, it'd be a public service.

Apart from Taito, i would add Cinemaware and Team 17. They developed great games as Defender of the crown, It Came from Desert, Alien Breed, Agony, etc...

I'm pretty sure Team 17 aren't Japanese... and are still publishing good stuff (besides Worms games).

Data East as they released some amazing games and pinball machines back in the day.

I would bring back the arcade versions of Robocop 1 and 2 for starters along with one of the many fantastic pinball units.

Oops you're right, sorry. As the same for Cinemaware. For Taito I remember, apart from Bubble Bobble, masterpieces like Operation Wolf and Rastan Saga.theantmeister wrote:I'm pretty sure Team 17 aren't Japanese... and are still publishing good stuff (besides Worms games).

It would have to be either Data East or Taito for me.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Good thread, Taito or Konami for me, some Bubble Bobble/bust-a-move fun

I miss Jaleco, if only because because of the Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai series.
