Worst licensed fighting game
I was listening to the Retro Asylum Star Wars episode earlier, and they were talking about the load of poop that is Master of Teras-Kasi, the Tekken style beat-em-up where hitting people with a lightsaber is equivalent to punching them. And while it's bad, I still think it's a better use of a license for a fighter than my personal dislike: Justice League Task Force. A game where you can beat Superman, and in fact every character by repeatedly kicking them in the shins so they fall over, letting them stand up, doing it again and then carrying on like that until they die. And has a plot involving your character travelling round to meet other heroes round the world, and being continually surprised they've been replaced by robot duplicates. EVERY TIME. I like to play as Batman, as he's meant to be the Worlds Greatest Detective and have him go 'OMG AQUAMAN IS TEH ROBOT' is strangely amusing. Thought I'd do a poll on it, added a few more options, but all gripes re equally welcome...

Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects was absolutely woeful and gets my vote. How EA f***** this up so badly I don't know. I did a write up on it here if anybody is interested:

Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Expected a mention for the Street Fighter: The Movie game before now.

They made a game of the film and its bloody awful,
Theres probably some based on anime that are even worse that didnt get a UK release
BUT WAIT!!!
Fighting Fury PS2 is based on Grappler Baki (characters and names altered because next to nobody knows what it is) and thats really bad

For some reason, I've owned this on PAL and NTSC-J before. I had the Japanese version after the PAL version and I was like "NOOOOOOOO..." when I realised what it really wasDPrinny wrote:BUT WAIT!!!

I like this on both Arcade and Sega Saturn. Fun to play although it feels odd at first.Elgin_McQueen wrote:Expected a mention for the Street Fighter: The Movie game before now.
Re: Worst licensed fighting game
I would have added a Dragonball game, but what I know about Dragonball Z wouldn't fill the back of a postage stamp. I do know it doesn't have mid 90's mullet hair Superman in it though, so thats a plus.DPrinny wrote:^Its actually playable and ok

Re: Worst licensed fighting game
The reason the Star Wars game is so panned isn't because it's particulary bad, it's because it shits all over the licence.
Anyway, the worst licensed fighting game is Highlander on the 8-bits; nothing else comes close.

Re: Worst licensed fighting game
What about Shaq Fu.
As for turtles tournament fighters, the genesis version is horrible but the Snes version is a completely different game and is really really good.
I also had a lot of fun with Wrestlemania the arcade game as well.

Re: Worst licensed fighting game
Although Justice League Task Force is undoubtedly a bit crap and very slow, I kind of like it.

Master of Teras-Kasi
Re: Worst licensed fighting game
Well, it wasn't technically licensed, was it? Capcom's IP, made into a film, Capcom made the associated game.Elgin_McQueen wrote:Expected a mention for the Street Fighter: The Movie game before now.
Re: Worst licensed fighting game
Another vote for that game. Woeful game that had terrible gameplay and equally terrible new characters. It was a gut punch that I went from Marvel Vs Capcom 2 to thisMegamixer wrote:Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects was absolutely woeful and gets my vote.
