I shall be attending Sunday with the missus and my little lad, who's major interest in video games to date has been stealing the stand from my Wii to use as a ramp for his hot wheels. Should be fun.

i'm probably quite easy to spot, i'm there all weekend, on the saturday i'll be wearing a tshirt with a master system on it.
i'm 5'8'' with short spikey hair, i wear glasses and my mate will be with me, he is a lot taller than me.

if by some coincidence there are lots of people that fit that description, look for someone that can only communicate by writing things down- i suffer from dysphonia and about 90% of the last 3 months has been spent with no voice whatsoever

Well last minute and looks like I can make it but cannot find a hotel and certainly not one for a reasonable price.

Does anyone have a bed/floor/bath that they can squeeze me into? Obviously willing to palm some money across for the trouble.

As per usual for these sort events I'll be found in my Weezer Blue Album shirt (on the Saturday anyway) and most likely be carrying a Sega Megadrive messenger bag.
You'll usually find me loitering around the Retro/Arcade section, Bar or (If it's there) Rock Band setup shredding the plastic guitar

Will be a good weekend! Can't wait to check into the hotel on Friday, get the PS2 set up and then have a few drinks whilst kicking my mates arse on Red Faction

Anyone got some info on using the buses? I know I need to use the 250 or 50x from Manchester Piccadilly but I'm not sure where I am meant to be getting off, or what buses I need to use to get back to Manchester Piccadilly.

trafford centre has its own bus station which is close-ish to event city best to get off the bus there. I'm getting the bus on the saturday and i'll be doing that.

in the evening its just the x50, both the 250 and x50 are run by stagecoach so one of their day tickets £4.50 ish? should cover both fine.

anyone on a route that splits services between stagecoach and first should get a 'system one daysaver' as they are valid on both and cost about £5-6, I have the monthly version to get to and from work as our parking is limited

the travel info on the event website is vastly out of date, traveline-northwest.co.uk is the site we use up here to check which buses there are etc, we have trams (metrolink) but they dont go near the trafford centre as its in the middle of nowhere next to the motorway and it will take another couple of years for the lines to be built
