Can you believe it? Last week I transferred out Geovanni of Hull and Torres of Liverpool as their form was not all good, so I brought in Adebayor who got a hattrick last week and Delap of Stoke. What happens? Torres gets 2 goals against Everton, Geovanni scored a fantastic long range shot against Arsenal, and of course Adebayor and Delap would have preferred to play football on another day. I think I have to be a bit more patient with certain players otherwise the same thing is going to happen again.

That happend to me alot last season. I went trhough a phase of transfering 2 players a week for the first half of the season, not really a wise move (unless there injured or somthing).

Anyhow, my last 4 players today all got excellent socres so i'm doing okay again :) I love Wigan! :D

Will not likely have an opportunity today to update the preliminary Cup mini-leagues so, unless you bother to work out your results for yourselves, you'll have to wait until my return from honeymoon. I leave tomorrow until the middle of next week.

No cheating whilst I'm gone! :D

Ok, so they outright Qualifiers are:

Phoenix
For Foxes Sake FC
Scotty Knows Best
FC Generic Team Name
The Om Nyom Nyoms
Firebreather Kopouts
Nites Table
Winning XI
Last Of The Sputryks
Sleepy FC
Crystal Phallus

That leaves 4 places for the best 4 3rd placed teams, which are:

Slagston Utd
Utopian Dreams XI
FC Fanta
Frank's Spankers mk3

So, CONGRATULATIONS to all who are through and Commiserations to the galant failures. The draw for the 1st Knock-Out stage will be made soon. I will impose only one rule for the draw: teams who played each other in the mini-league will not face each other in the 1st round only.

Right-o, here's the draw for the Last 16 of the FFFA Cup. All pairings were chosen blind and from pots of the previous mini-league round to ensure no two teams from the same mini-league play each other in this first round. And, let's face it, would I have chosen who I am paired with if there had been any cheating?!

There is no benefit for being Home or Away, either. And no points will be deducted for any transfers made. Quite simply, taking League results, what you score is what you score.

LAST 16

Crystal Phallus - Pea Wet Wit Scraps
FC Fanta - Frank's Spankers mk3
Sleepy FC - Nites Table
Utopian Dreams XI - Phoenix
Last Of The Sputryks - For Foxes Sake FC
Firebreather Kopouts - The Om Nyom Nyoms
FC Generic Team Name - Winning XI
Scotty Knows Best - Slagston United

There is plenty of time to sort out a winning team/formula, the Last 16 round taking place week commencing 6 December. The full list of FFFA Cup dates is:

Last 16 - 6 December
Quarter - 17 January
Semi - 3 March
Final - 25 April

Enjoy!

Seriously gonna have to look at getting Ronaldo back in my team somehow, only left him out to begin with because he was injured. The guy is a points machine.

So, I made some pretty radical changes to get him back in:

Clichy replaced by Turner
Wright-Phillips replaced by Valencia
Cole J replaced by Ronaldo
Berbatov replaced by Zaki

Gonna go with 3-5-2 sticking Geovanni in as the extra midfielder and dropping Turner to first sub. Hope it pays off!

I reckon with some proper study there could be some major points scored witrh Stoke and Hull players without spending too much money. I'm fully undecided about a strike force at the moment. Happy Cueller's getting games now and only really happy with Defoe and Barry in my team.

Yah - off the bottom and moving upwards at last. It's almost mirroring my real team, Spurs, an atrocious start but suddenly moving in the right direction.

After last week's horrendous efforts I have lost confidence in almost the whole of my team. Feel forced to make multiple changes this week (and, as a consequence, lost points) and will again next week. Gah!
