I first started off with issue 2. I had a paddy fit when I saw it in the WH Smiths, it was almost like my dreams had been answered and "i wasn't the only one into this censored" ! ... Like many others it seems I managed to get issue 1 from eBay ... for not such a bargain price.

Issue 2 - Virgin Megastore, Oxford Circus. Can't believe issue 1 of a magazine called "Retro Gamer" passed me by...

Stumbled upon issue 1 in Smiths while I was in looking to get GamesTM for the retro bit.
Thoughts and prayers.

Issue 8 via subscription, had bought 7 in store IIRC. Back to buying in the store.

Issue 1. That magazine was a godsend! And it still is.

Issue 4
I have a feeling that issue 1 and maybe 2 weren't available in normal Australian newsagents. Can any fellow Aussies confirm this?

I picked up issue 1 from smiths also but I didn't get it immediately as I'd gone off computer mags due to there being very little of interest in them, but when I bought issue 1 I read every page, as I have with every issue since.

Been buying it since Day 1. Someone heard about it on one of the retro forums i used to go to and just managed to get Issue 1. Obviously its easy to look back but if i had bought several copies of issue 1 i would have been minted specially when you had some idiots paying 90 quid for it !!!
The cd's never really did it for me and there were a fair few articles i wasnt keen on at all but i kept buying it never the less because i wanted to support the mag and didnt want to see it fold.
I much much prefer the new Retro Gamer as to me its more games orientated and i personally love most of the articles.

Issue One but I resented the fact I had to pay for a cd full of stuff when only about 2% of it was useful to me as a linux user. cover mounted games are so 1980's (or at least pre broadband britain)

Issue 23, my local newsagents. I just really got into retro gaming, & seeing this just made me want to drop the PS2 magazine I was about to buy, & go straight for it.
