ToxieDogg wrote:It was an extremely entertaining, but worked shoot. Next week's Raw has already been taped (it's in Australia) and spoilers are already all over the 'net.....without giving anything away, it's part of a storyline to give the championship match at Money In The Bank more importance (and gain more viewers in the process, which has worked :) )

I think maybe Punk said a little more than they expected him to say, but it was all part of the plan nonetheless.
I just read all the spoilers - oh yes! :D its going to be awesome!

Itv Wrestling was part of a bigger ITV version of Grandstand, that Ive completely forgotten what its called. It showed taped british wrestling from all over the country Brian Dixon promotions? including many different stars of the era, towards the end it even showed a few WWF bouts as well.

Free to air wrestling was also in the UK on Channel 5 c 1997 with the hilariously badly cut and Batman Kerpow WCW and on Channel 4 for a year around 2000 which had 4 PPV's live on Channel four Royal Rumble, Fully Loaded, Armageddon and one other that Ive forgotten. and Heat every Sunday. It got shunted off the schedules because C4 wasnt happy with the violence towards women among other things and kept getting later and later before it was dropped.

It was called "World of sport" and it had our greats on it. There great DVDs and worth tracking down
I liked it being on C4.
Even if it did mean being on really late at night and having to be up early on the Monday.

Wonder who this is?

The 1999 Rumble on C4 was what got me really back into Wrestling for a long time. Id stopped watching it because well it had gone very crap but i was in uni and didn't have alot to do the next day. The tables match with the Dudley + The Hardys blew me away and then the street fight with HHH and Cactus Jack was just plain brutal. The next week a friend that had stayed at our place to watch the rumble brought round a load of ECW and FMW vids and i was hooked again.

I find it ironic that C4 and 5 were cutting Wrestling stuff even late at night yet almost everything lese they were showing around that time after the watershed was on front of the Mail with a ban this sick filth headline.

I remember the last episode of WCW worldwide on C5, I used to watch it before heading down teh student union on Friday evenings. Vinnie Mac bought out WCW and as the credits rolled, the C5 announcer, said "and thats the last in the current of series of WCW worldwide" and I thought to myself, ain't that an understatement!!!

Could do it every month, but it does mean having two down the pub every month.

Mostly after the main ones. dont think TNA have a big time PPV to look forward to every year.(Like how WWE has Wrestlemaina) Just they look forward to one each month.

Bound For Glory is the TNA equivalent of Wrestlemania, always has been. That's partly why you've got this whole 'road to Bound For Glory' thing going on at the moment with the points system to decide who the number one contender will be (I see it being either Matt Morgan or Crimson myself, think Matt deserves the push more at this stage TBH). Other than that, I'd say their 'big' events (ie. like Royal Rumble, Summerslam and Survivor Series) are probably Genesis, Lockdown and Slammiversary. Though this year's Destination X is shaping up to be a bloody good one too :)

On a side note, I really want to get hold of that 'Best of WCW Nitro' DVD set that WWE have just put out, reckon it could be aces. :)
