Is Prince Harry A Hero ?

Post by Knight Lore » Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:03 pm

Most UK forum members will be aware of the media coverage regarding Harry's exploits on the front line in Afghanistan.

But is he a hero ? Should he be singled out for accolades when the rest of his squandron are forgotton about ?

Or is war a futile endeavor anyway and should this story be relegated to the back page with all the porn ads ?

Hero for calling in bombers? Bah, I would have sent him in on his own behind enemy lines with nothing but a knife...

Having served in Iraq myself, I think that all soldiers who serve in either Iraq or Afghanistan should be appreciated and respected for all their work that they are doing out there.

This. What he said.

I would add, I think it's a good thing that an English Prince should fight on the front line, or very near to it, killing scumbag enemies of the kingdom. It's like the good old days of 1200AD.

Plus, I understand, he actually killed a few scumbags. Which is even better. Hurrah for England, and it's warrior Prince. ;)

If he was fighting off invaders and protecting our land then I would say he was a hero, as he is fighting a war thats got nothing to do with us and not protecting England in any way I just think he is an idiot..

Yeah good on him, he wasnt dressed up in cotton wool doing it solely for PR, seemed to be near the frontline a lot and killed a few. The Royal family cant win, its not like hes thousands of miles away in the safety of an HQ, he was doing a great job (just like the other soldiers) so fair play to him.

Are we assuming he is actually in a warzone and they haven't just flown him somewhere that looks a bit like one, then set up a few events to convince him and the press?

Good point, the press chiefs have already colluded over not releasing the info on his deployment....

depends on what you consider the downside of the Taliban having a whole country to themselves again might be.
