gamestations retro game cull
As many of you probably have noticed gamestation have started to cut back on
there retro section which kind of sucks. But what’s even worse is the fact they plan to destroy all unsold retro games excluding obviously very rare titles like Symphony Of The Night, Panzer Dragoon saga ect. But most old games that they sell for a few quid are all going to be destroyed.

My local gamestation in Stafford, not including a Saturn they have had in the window for years, now have ZERO retro stock.
Up the road in Stoke they only have one or two items.
Nottingham still have a good ammount upstairs.
It's long been Gamestation's practice to destroy unsold stock, a good friend of mine had an administrative possition at GS in Weston-super-Mare a few years back and some of the consoles he told me about them smashing brought a tear to my eye

As the company does not make a great deal of money off retro games it has decided to concentrate on just current generation consoles and games. As selling off old retro games for a few pence, just to get rid of them could get a bit messy. It is easier for them to just destroy them. Blockbuster did the same with VHS.

The answer is they never actually get destroyed, the staff have them.
Unless they have the saddest manager in the world.

"allowed" doesn't come in to it.
Take it, sign the form to say it's destroyed. Don't pretend that doesn't happen in 95% of all stores with any destroys.
But as I said, in any decent store, the staff will have them. Destroying useful staff the staff could have is just stupid. I certainly had no truck with it when I managed.

And this can f right off. If they did pay a few pence that's still a few pence more for the store, who the hell cares what happens to them afterwards?Head office gave strict orders, as they fear staff would just buy them cheap to sell on eBay for a profit.

i don't really see the point of another highstreet retailer selling current-gen consoles. aren't there enough retailers doing that already?
and surely selling retro-stuff was the original point of gamestation?
