Get satellite or cable, tightwads.
Cable company went bust, Sky say they can't put a dish on my house.

Not worth paying for anyway. There's very little worth watching and the few decent shows we get are 6 months late.

Internet is where its at: brand new import shows, often before broadcast, with more and more available in HD.

And the new series of VideoGaiden from the Beeb is internet only for most of its 20 episodes, with only 3 special editions airing on your old fashioned tellies ;)

I know what you mean. Its weird, you feel like you are so spoilt for choice but so often theres nothing on. Only have normal TV in my bedroom and theres even less on some evenings, its terrible.

Normally watch DVD's or some US shows off the net which i've put onto DVD.

I've given up on UK TV, there were only a couple of good shows I liked and they have finished so I never used my TV for watching TV anymore, only for DVD's and watching downloaded American shows that I like. A pity really but no big loss...

Surely you've answered your own question there.

In all honesty though, I agree that there's little that really appeals. The vast majority of satellite fare is an endless round of repeated TV.
Although it has to be said, the Mrs and I, often moan that 'there's nothing on', but you miss it when its gone.

Feel free to add me on XBL.

Have to disagree here, been watching it a lot on Five US and love it (particularly the musical numbers. "I want to touch your kangaroo", classic!)

Not really. When the cable co went bust we missed it for about a week or so. Then we realised we never really used it. We missed the idea of it rather than its actual function. Then I started downloading telly. Signal is very poor in this area so I get a better picture this way.

I saw "Dave" on the TV guide I use on my computer a few days ago. I thought someone had hacked into their listings and put their name on it. I saved a pic of the screen to show people, then found out it was a real channel :? I still can't believe it's real. I must have been dreaming the last few days and I'll wake up in a minute...

did manage to watch Who's Line is it anyway last week. laughed my arse off. i think its the best comedy channel (bar PARAMOUNT COMEDY. Bless This House, South Park, Rab C. Nesbit. cant beat it) but the rest of the other channels are just gumpf. i mean who wants to watch Debbie Does Dallas again (you know what happens in the end, anyway!) and Only Fools And Horses (the chandelear one gets played to death on UKGOLD and i dont find it funny anymore).

they should play the old series of THEY THINK ITS ALL OVER with Lee Hurst....when it was funny. not the ones with Jonathan 'I'm not really funny but like to look at the camera all the time' Ross. complete wan.....

I can't have Sky where I live and I am in a "non cable" area so no Virginmedia either. And anyway, apart from a good few shows it is all repeats and general trash. Both Sky and VM should lower their prices at least since you are mostly overpaying for stuff you can easily get on DVD.

About one hour per week per channel...thats all its worth.....

I only have freeview (because I am a tight wad and  I have the net)

Dave is ok but I bet we get into a loop in 3 weeks time.

What about BBC Parliament.......go on stick it on and time yourself...I bet you cant last more than 30 seconds.....its a waste of `airwidth` or whatever the tech term is.
