Doesn't it just, you can't even start a nice thread about it.

So everyone gets their input and I come along with my input, saying I hate Chelsea, and suddenly I'm the bad guy? I don't get it, considering Dudley seems to consider it's OK to refer to them as twats and get away with it and I get flamed for calling them cheats.

yes you are. It isn't as simple as he called them twats/you called them cheats.

Dudley was saying (as a Chelsea) fan, that Liverpool were unlucky not to win.
You called them cheats and said that you hated them with nothing to back up what you were saying.

Interestingly, Graham Poll was on BBC's Hardtalk on News 24 last night, they repeat these shows a bit so it's worth looking out for.

Alright, fine. I don't care what you THINK I am saying, I just put forward my opinion that Chelsea are cheats. I don't care if I don't say anything to back it up, it's my opinion. Like it or lump it, I'm sticking by it.

Isn't that the kind of bigotted attitude you were arguing against in the religion and ginner threads?

You got me there! What I've been standing up for is exactly what I've been fighting against. Ladies and Gentlemen: look up "Hypocrite" in the dictionary and you'll see "sonic91" followed by a picture of me! In all fairness, though, what I argued for in the religion/ginger threads were things I really strongly believe in. Mabe I got carried away, and so I did here. Sorry for any offense I caused  but I can have strong feeling about one thing one day and be fighting against it for the rest of my life starting the very next day! Sorry but I seem to have a compulsion to attempt to make everyone agree with me (well, I guess you all figured this out by now.)

I'd just like to clear one thing up: the reason I act like this is more than skin-deep. It lies in a troubled past. Sorry I had to admit this on a public forum.

When it comes to sport - especially football - our general beliefs and moral standards can quite often be put on standby , particularly during the 90 minutes that the game lasts for

Good point.
sorry just had a re-read of the entire thread and just noticed this little post, i'm going to ask the chelsea supporters here the same question i asked my brother a few days ago when we were talking about chelsea's penalty, btw he's a chelsea supporter (god only knows why) :

what would you have rather had? a goal down with 11 players still on the field or cech sent off for his foul on baros and in all probability a goal down from the resulting penalty and then having to play out the rest of the game with ten men???

oh and it did cross the line :D

I've ben a Man U fan for 13 years. Just because Liverpool are our main rivals doesn't mean I can't say I hate other teams. Man U and Liverpool aren't the only 2 teams in the country, you know. That's like saying Newcastle supporters have to hate Sunderland and no-one else.
