C64 Demo for Jason Kelk

Post by andy vaisey » Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:00 am

Some people on this forum may know Jason Kelk, also know in the 'scene' as T.M.R, who writes the home brew section in Retro Gamer.

He has been seriously ill in hospital with COVID-19, so being a member of his group 'Cosine', I decided to code a simple little demo to cheer him up. It contains good will messages from good friends and acquaintances and people from various online forums he visits.

The demo can be downloaded from CSDb:

https://csdb.dk/release/?id=192536

The download contains the demo itself as well as the ACME source code and all data files.

Not good news, I didn't know.

Here's to a full recovery, hope you pull through this soon Jason.

He's been in for some time, hasn't he? Really do hope he's doing ok in there, gets better and returns to the mag in a 100% fit state.

Has there been any news of how he is? I'm sure there are loads of us rooting for him to pull through :(

The last I heard via is friend, Sean Conolly, is that he is now being his usual grumpy self, being poked and prodded by nurses - although he is now awake, his wife has said he has a long recovery ahead because his lungs were so badly damaged.

There are other details about what he has gone through, but I don't think it's my place to post about it here.

All I can emphasise is what Sean posted on CSDb - Jason has been *very* ill and people should not start to take COVID-19 less seriously just because the UK is past the 'peak'. It can be lethal for some as it almost was for Jason.

Cheers for the update. If there is any way to pass on our thoughts & prayers, maybe we could get a virtual get well soon card?

Something from RG/RG forum members. I'm sure the demo is great, but as we are on this forum, I thought maybe something from us.

You could maybe support his wife's fund-raiser?
