Definative place for solving PC game issues?

Has anyone got any good forums or sources that they can recommend?

Several games now I'm stumped with getting to work on my windows 10 MSi machine, latest being Dirt where I've done every fix to no change (Crashes immediately to a black screen), I'd do away with Windows 10 if I could but unfortunately I need to keep it on this one and my Windows 7 Machines either have issues or are in storage that I can't remove them from in my current state.

The Steam forums are usually one of the best places to start looking.

A spot of Googling turned up this guide for Dirt:

FWIW you'd have much the same problems on Windows 7.

I had already found and did the lot on that guide, I had ran it fine on the Win 7 tower but that had a lot older hardware set up which could be a cause if that guide is anything to go by, MSi uses a modern i7 where as the tower runs a Core 2 quad on a motherboard from 2008.

No joy then?

It's not a game I've got, but from what I'm reading it sounds like there are a whole host of different issues as to why it might not work. There do at least seem to be a few people on there still playing it though, so maybe ask them if there's anything else they had to set up and see if it works for you.

No, just does same thing as before, doesn't even load the first screen even if you take the restrictions out entirely which I suppose is a bit less dissapointing then NFS Pro streets trick of allowing you to race and then dying on the results screen.
