Quite an unusual number of "characters" came on last night, some briefly and with little to say! Next time, don't be shy!
Yeah I suppose I am unusual
We can only hope the unusual characters come on again- some from many many moons ago- that we saw last week. Sir Clive was the biggest shock. He started this chat off ten years ago before I took over. To have him return with me there as well... it was like The Two Doctors!

Anyway, you are all welcome, even the right-wing extremists who populate the fringe forums. We love you all!!! See you tomorrow Sunday from 9pm. The link as always is in my signature. You know it makes sense! :D

It's the same as before folks, as we start up at 9pm this Sunday and hope to attract fans of the golden era of gaming. I've asked Suzanne Martin whether she would come on and tell us her favourite Spectrum games as a tribute to her wonderful new Vega+ device, and I'm hopeful she will, because she gave me her word, and we know how reliable that is! There have been a few delays on delivery of the product, but the final Vega+ release looks fantastic, especially the paper "Sinclair" logo underneath the screen. Reminds me very much of a handheld emu device I bought a few years ago from my favourite Taiwanese distributor, Kwang Tung!

Anyway, the link to the IRC chat is in my signature, so turn up anytime you want from 9pm and let the arguments begin :)

Good evening, veterans, and I have a Hot Topic question based on a post made on facebook for the Colecovision. Someone showed a picture of their USB 128-in-1 Flash Cartridge for the machine, and after a few comments about how good the cart is, one poster came on and said it was pointless and he should just "use a Raspberry Pi instead". Needless to say I don't agree with that, but it makes me wonder the following:
How many people still use their original computers/consoles to play games?

Are you all just using Raspberry Pis or a PC? I'd like to know because the idea disgusts me. Surely those old Spectrums and Megadrives are still being played by someone?? Join us on Sunday from 9pm to discuss this and anything else retro. Be there or be a Vega+!!

This has been a crowded weekend for me being a best man at a wedding and all the other things that goes with that, so I don't think I'll be on tonight folks. Just in case anyone wonders why if they log on. I'll see you next week though :)

The week that was has gone, the wedding is over, the best man speech has been delivered and my life can get back to normal. I have celebrated by bringing out the GCE (or in the UK, the MB) Vectrex and am giving Minestorm and Pole Position a spin. It's a weird machine, no question, made to be played at night with those glowing vectors. I will be talking about that tonight, but that won't be the only thing of course. If Sep comes on he can talk about gaming from the Xbox onwards, which is his idea of retro gaming. He things the first system ever made was the Megadrive! But don't mind all that -just join us from 9pm tonight using the link in my signature. See you then :D

Last night, RG members past and present joined us. I was shocked to see markopoloman there - remember him? No he's not dead, he's still here. When he arrived, it was like when Bobby Ewing came back in Dallas!!

Then we discussed some old stories and legends. A few new stories were told too, and it was very... interesting. Oh, and we also talked about the Vectrex as well. We will continue next week.

The IRC chat continues, despite mobile phones, facebook, instagram and all the other evils of the world seemingly blowing against it. But why not? After all, it is retro!

I need a hot topic, and here it is, based on an argument I had on IRC last week:

What decade was better for gaming - the 80s or the 90s??

For me, the question is a non-starter, but it appears not for some other people, so here is your chance to argue your case. Come on from tomorrow (sunday) at 9pm and tell us which decade was better. The link is in my signature as always. I hope to see you then. And needless to say, if you argue that the 90s was better, then you'll be given a lifetime ban!

I get that the additional buttons used in 90s gaming (which added depth) are a bit too complex for your decaying old brain to handle, but you shouldn't rule the decade out just because of your mental deficiencies and shortfalls. :P

We are back again, and the "Hot Topic" (which is never that hot tbh) is about what your favourite golf game is. Truth is, you can talk about anything retro, and it starts from 9pm. Check out the link in my signature, cause that's what you use to get on. Hopefully, I'll see one or two of you on there tonight :)

Yes, we are still here and if you use the link in my signature as before, hopefully a contingent of weirdos with nothing better to do might turn up and we can talk about anything at all. We can even talk about the dreadful international football weekend where UEFA's transparent attempt to get a piece of Champions League action added to international football didn't really come off as a lot of the games were crap. Anyway, you can decide that from 9pm tonight. I hope to see some of you there. Excelsior!!
