Firefox issues

Post by markopoloman » Thu May 11, 2017 8:35 pm

Is anyone else here using Firefox?

For the past month I've been getting random black screens - and the only way to get rid of them is to close Firefox altogether and re-load it.
Reinstalled firefox, updated all add-ons etc. and the bugger still does it.

Also I get a 'Your Tab just crashed' error every now and then. The only way to cure this is to re-boot the PC!!!! If you don't, then Firefox loads up to a Tab crash screen :?

No viruses or malware found. Can't find any really useful info out there on the web.

And please have pitty on me as I am now using Internet Explorer (It's not that bad really - just prefer Firefox)

Can't say I've experienced that at all. What add-ons and extensions have you got installed - maybe one of them is at fault?

You tried CCCleaner after uninstalling to make sure any remnants have gone? We use that at work a lot for our own software as the installers are notorious for leaving bits behind that cause problems for new installs.

CCCleaner

Love this, it has saved by bacon so many times, both on the PC and Mac

Just make sure you leave Intelligent Cookie Scan on, otherwise you're gonna have a hell of a time trying to remember all your passwords!
Newer versions of CCleaner take no prisoners when it comes to Firefox.
