I am sorry but that is really not true at all.paranoid marvin wrote:Back in the day I had an Amiga, and there was nothing on the MD that i couldnt have similar (or better) on my Amiga. The SNES was something different and with title like SMW, Pilot Wings and Zelda it offered games that were unobtainable to us muggy owners. For style, quality and the best console controller since the Atari stick, SNES wins hands down.

Just not true, games on the MD were refined and polished. Until the A1200 the amiga could not match, and even then it was 94/95 before any MD quality games appeared. (Though it excelled in games areas not on the MD).paranoid marvin wrote:Back in the day I had an Amiga, and there was nothing on the MD that i couldnt have similar (or better) on my Amiga.
FYI, I swapped my MD for a magadrive and did not regret it.

Re: Console battle Q7 SUPER NINTENDO VS MEGADRIVE
Sorry, I should clarify. Obviously there were certain games on the MD that were better than the Amiga version, but the games I was interested in either weren't available for MD, or were inferior, or there was an equally good equivalent version for my machine.
For example Kick Off 2 and Sensi were miles better on Amiga. There was no good equivalent to Champ Manager, the MD didn't do some of the best point n clicks like Monkey Island, Fate of Atlantis or BASS. Text adventures from Infocom obviously weren't available, neither were some brilliant games like Dune II, Dungeon Master, Wings , IK+, Floor 13, Alien Breed. No PD or emulators either. Then there were games like ICFTD , were the MD was a pale imitation of the Amiga version. Not to mention all the simulators that couldn't be accurately played without a keyboard.
No doubt the machine had some great games, lots of shooters and platformers and some great arcade conversions, and the same could be said for the SNES.
But the SNES also had games the like of which couldn't be matched or represented in any way on the Amiga. I could understand someone preferring to have a MD or SNES rather than an Amiga, but not a MD and Amiga at the same time. Owning a SNES and an Amiga made sense as you then had access to all the Nintendo-only franchises and a machine that was genuinely different in many ways to Commodore's machine.
All in my opinion of course!

You swapped your Megadrive for a Megadrive? You should have kept the Megadrive and saved the bother!Carrot007 wrote: FYI, I swapped my MD for a magadrive and did not regret it.

Mega Drive - better machine all round IMO
Re: Console battle Q7 SUPER NINTENDO VS MEGADRIVE
Megadrive, and the SNES should be docked a point for the crap boxes their £45+ games came in.

Would have voted for the Megadrive as I never got much fun out of my SNES. Sega is always better

SNES! I liked a MegaDrive, but a SNES.........my first console, my biggest regret in selling it (or this could possibly be the C16) Amazing range of games, fantastic joy pads, 4 player games and so on. Fantastic machine and sorely missed.
