Console Battle Q2 COLECOVISION VS INTELLIVISION

Bored and stuck at work a lot for the next few weeks so fancied doing something long term on here for a bit of fun.

picked out 32 consoles and pitting them against each other in a knockout round. First up is 16 Qualifying rounds, will run this till 21/04/2017 and then the winners will be on to the next stage.

COLECOVISION VS INTELLIVISION

not much experience with either of these so will go with the Coleco just because I did own one at one point.

Colecovision, purely because the picture of the Smurfs game in my mums Littlewoods catalogue impressed me.

ColecoVision for me, better hardware and better games.

Colecovision was surely better - some great second tier arcade games came out for it that many wouldn't have known about otherwise.

I guess it's got to be the Colecovision on the grounds that the controllers are merely a bit crap rather than the ultimate incarnation of evil that the Intellivision has to make do with.

Colecovision for me. I owned one on release and my mate had the Intellivision. He had great games like Burger Time, Lock n Chase and Tron Deadly discs but I had Donkey Kong, Mr Do! Zaxxon , Cosmic Avenger and other fantastic arcade ports plus controller was way better.

I have only tried these through emulation, my memory of them were two equel machines, to the point that I felt that one was a clone of the other. Back in the days I longed for the Colecovision and the impressive unreleased add-on that would make it a real computer. Very nice looking machine

Same here! Got it on the 2600 and it didn't look nearly so nice - though it was still a brilliant game

As for this poll, Coleco is way better than the Intellivision - in fact there's a great piece on it in this months' RG
