What's your favourite chocolate?

Post by Shinobi » Thu Sep 29, 2016 11:07 am

Me I eat too much chocolate but Heart Frys Turkish Delight.. I buy packs of 3 in Wilco and will eat at least 1 a day (sometimes scoff the pack)..

Close second favourites are Cabuarys Caramel and Mint Aero and squishy drumstick lethal opening a bag of them :

Sweets from the past Spira and Terry's Pyramint

Not sweets per see but Banshee Bone crisps which I get sent over from Ireland.. Seems like they've been discontinued..

It was a favourite of Marianne Faithfull and Mick Jagger's as well. But, for different reasons.

My favourite is the Cadbury's Twirl. It's like a Flake - but taken to the max! Having it covered in a chocolate coating helps the eating experience no end. In second place, I would put the Cadbury's Snack, there's just something so novel about having a shortcake covered in chocolate. I see from Wikipedia that Cadbury's have stopped making it due to declining sales. Grrrrr! In third place, for me it is the Mint Aero. Minty bubbly goodness covered in chocolate. Mmmmm.

I would normally say cadburys caramel but since the slight change of shape I'm positive they have also changed flavour slightly. The cadburys caramel large single pieces in the heroes selection tub taste better. Also love the button version.

The others I really like are Boost, Lion bar and Twix.

Toblerone. The larger the bar the better. Pity there are no 10kg monster bars over here - found several in a Swiss airport Duty Free whilst changing flights. This was around 2010, methinks, and they cost 110 Euros. Yeah, £100 for a bar of chocolate. 'Av it!

Runner-up would be Topic. I just wish they'd make them larger - barely 3 or 4 bites and it's gone. :(

Wow this really is creepy... I was in work putting out boost biscuit and i got thinking about the past flavours, i went to a roadshow where suppliers show off their new lines about ten or more years ago and they were releasing guarana and a glucose flavour and showing off the range.lAnyway i got talking to the staff and NONE of them remembered the coconut version....i was like ...its the first ever boost..i recalled a peanut version too !!
As i was putting the box back in the storeroom I got onto thinking about that bring back the wispa facebook campaign and why cant someone start the red boost one.....- This was tonight at between 8 and 8.30... The same time you lot posted about them.

As a kid i loved Banjo and Bar six

I will say that none of the chocolate these days tastes as nice as it used to, but i do like Toffifee.

Pierre Marcolini is always a highlight of a trip to Brussels. It's more like going into a jewellers than than a chocolatier, the way the shop is laid out and the prices are to match. They made chocolate Christmas trees a few years back that were absolutely divine, although the usual selection boxes are pretty special too.

Royce' is a new favourite. It's a Japanese chocolate that's so delicate that you need to keep it in the fridge; they'll even give you a little coolbag at the shop to take it home in. They also do chocolate coated potato crisps that are a bit of an unusual combination, but work surprisingly well.
