Watched it off my Sky Anytime, the first episode appeared on there last week

I found it to be very disappointing

What makes you think it sounds boring / crap?

It's.show about retro games, (the topic that brings us here) presented by someone who knows about games, produced by people who know games. I watched it, they treated the games with respect, there is accurate/relevant background info for those not in the know, it has some genuine funnies.

Not seen it yet, but much like Gamesmaster the focus is on watching other people play games. That's rarely exciting.

Watching people fail to find the jump button on Chuckie Egg is neither respectful of the game or funny to watch

IIRC they didn't even bother to say which platform they were playing on, and (for multi format games) why they'd chosen it

Noting that Steve, Dara and Ellie are all known for their love of games it could have been so much better.

Yeah, it wasn't quite as funny or as interesting as I would have hoped for. Its aimed at the mass market though (well as "mass" as a channel like Dave gets), so is going to cut out technical information that retrogamers might wish to hear.

The sad thing about it though was that probably the funniest panel member was David James.

I enjoyed it in fairness, the only annouance is that dance thing they try to do when the stage turns for the games. Im not a fan of ed byrne though so hearing there is an upcoming episode with him isnt something im relishing.

Watched it

Kinda meh
Why do they have to use the big screen rather than have a smaller one in front?
Chucky Egg on a joystick seems wrong
The rotating stage seems excessive
Susan was annoying
Its called "Go 8bit" and isnt just 8bit games
How does the point system work? Just the audience?
"Bust-a-move" looks more like one of the flash games of it

Its heart is in the right place, im sure Gamesmaster seeies1 had flaws that they changed in later series' so if it gets a second or third run maybe theyll change some bits. Audience challenges would be good as i find some of the talk that comes out of professional gamers/journalists on there to be rubbish. That fella on the scottish comediennes team trying to claim he had NEVER played Tekken-or a tekken game at least so wouldnt know the gist of the game...to cover if he lost probably.

The set was good, nice to see a variety of eras, but a few rough edges to smooth out. Fun.

Yup. I think better comedians will make the show more slick, and perhaps better editing as well, as some of it was a bit awkardly-not-funny (i guess they didn't have enough good material that week to stretch it out).

I thought it was ok, although I hope they cut that annoying stage rotation bit in future episodes. 10 of the longest, cringeworthiest seconds I've ever had to sit through, repeated about 4 times!

Other than that, it is surprisingly exciting seeing 2 people battling on Tekken, despite neither of them being able to execute a special move.

I thought a lot of the jokes were very broad and didn't really land... can't help thinking that Charlie Brooker would have made it far sharper, like in the Gameswipe program he did a while ago.
