I've read these in the last few weeks:
Total Recall by Arnie. I really enjoyed until the politics chapters.
Hearts in Atlantis-Stephen King, Short stories and Novellas, with a loose tie in to the Dark Tower, and a lot about Vietnam. I enjoyed it.
Dark Tower books 1/2/3. This is my 2nd time through and they're just as good. Taking a break from them though to make sure I'm not reading anything when Doctor Sleep(The Shining 2) is released. Plus it'll give me some time to play some games

Hearts in Atlantis is a magnificent book, many people regard it as Kings best work.

Just finished Hearts in Atlantis as well - in the middle of Tommy Knockers now. Stephen King is a magnificent author, possibly underrated as a serious writer? I'm not sure - but I always find a lot of his stuff, especially that without the supernatural flavour, very impressive.
Also just finished Nothing to Envy, quite astounding...

Still reading First King of Shannara, but I've just started The Raven's Shadow by Elspeth Cooper which suddenly appeared in my local library on Monday.

Bought Doctor Sleep on impulse and am actually quite looking forward to getting started on it! Haven't read much Stephen King.

Just started reading the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. Seems good so far.

The Straw Men by Michael Marshall, I'm only a few chapters in but I'm absolutely gripped, I love the style of writing & it's rekindled my love of a good book.
Apparently he's done quite a few of these so I'm gonna work my way through them.

I love those books! I haven't read Odd Apocalypse yet but it's on the list. I'd also recommend checking out the film(available on the high seas) it's pretty good.greenberet79 wrote:Just started reading the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. Seems good so far.

Yes, you have to keep reminding yourself that your not reading an account from the middle-ages, but rather one from the 1990s.Timothy Lumsden wrote:is that the Barbara Demick N Korea book?clarance wrote:Just finished Hearts in Atlantis as well - in the middle of Tommy Knockers now. Welp, finished up on this and I deffo recommend it. Abra is a great character, vulnerable but determined, and I'd love to see her maybe get some books of her own in the future. Although it would have been nice for there to have been a little more in the way of...y'know...horror.Sel Feena wrote:Bought Doctor Sleep on impulse and am actually quite looking forward to getting started on it! Picked this up myself last weekend. I had no idea it had been released yet so it was a nice surprise to see a new Stephen King book on the shelves. I'm planning to re-read The Shining first before moving onto Doctor Sleep as the former was the first ever Stephen King book I read years ago and I've only been through it once. Got almost all of the others apart from 3-4 that still elude me...Sel Feena wrote:Welp, finished up on this and I deffo recommend it.
