Xbox 360 has died!!!!

Post by funkym00se » Sat Feb 11, 2006 3:03 pm

Oh well folks, it serves me right fro paying over the odds for a console.

I have had the dreaded 3 red lights on the dash. A couriered box is being sent to me.

I havent played on it for a couple of weeks due to me studying for my 70-290 MCP. (passed with 884 btw).

Anyhow, to celebrate, got me two new games on the way home from said exams, RR6 and full auto, half hour in, BAM, shutdown.

Never got to play Full Auto yet, hope its good. Im off for a bit of a cry, hope the turnaround isnt to long, i have had to plug in the gamecube for a bit to keep me going.

Anyone got any experiance on the dreaded red lights? C'mon, cheer me up.

Actually it has a lower faliure rate than is average for new electronics but don't let me interupt your trolling.

You...might...want to consider swapping it against something else.

Just my personal opinion. Average score is about 6/10; and the general agreement is that the game is unfinished.

I only played it for an hour or so (a fried purchased it and returned it in disgust the next day), so I could be wrong. Just don't want to see a retro-buddy wasting money on a potential dud.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I think i will get full auto back to Game and swap it for something else. Perhaps dead or alive. Anyone played this?

Also, i checked the cables etc. Definately hardware failure according to MS website. My only fear is that i will now lose all my game saves from the HD. I assume there is no way around this.

Aah well, could of been worse i suppose.

Ridge Racer or Dead or Alive would be good replacements.

Full Auto's getting a panning over on RLLMUK.

I would take Full-Auto back and get something else.

Don't send them the Hard Drive. Reading on other forums the box is a perfect fit for the 360 only.

I'd say Ridge Racer, or Call of Duty 2.

DoA4 is a mediocre single player experience, but can be blisteirng online.

My ha'penny worth is given.

Wont you need Sparrows to lift the 360 out rather than the courier surely?

What about the burial costs, theyll be enomormous!

Check out XBOX Scene. I remember seeing something on there, some sort of utility where you can connect the XBOX360 hard drive to your PC and transfer stuff of the drive (including game saves). I'm not sure however if it invalidates your warranty. Should say something on the applications's web site hopefully.
