I was lucky enough to meet Kris Travis a few times and took his match photos on those occasions. He was a genuinely nice guy.

Such a shame for a young wrestler to lose his life to stomach cancer. He tried hard to fight it but eventually it won.

RIP Kris.

That's right - he had that scar on his face, and Avon shot him in the stomach. Remember it well - as when it was first broadcast!

RIP Roj Blake.

Loved Blakes 7... I was actually doing an article for Retro Fusion years ago and had put in months of viewing pleasure and research. Might have a dig around on old hard drives to see if it is still accessible.

I think I'd only seen the last season of Blake's 7, when I was still in Primary School. I watched a few of the first episodes, when I borrowed the VHS tapes off of a schoolfriend in the early 1990s. I did get to do a proper run through the series in the 2005.

P.S. - I had a Corgi Liberator as a child. :D

Theory. From the 1950s we had the birth of rock n roll and television. Before that mainly cinema so it is natural that there are a larger pool of celebrities in their 70s and above. As we all age many of these celebrities resonate more. The BBC has apparently wrote twice as many full obituaries this part of the year compared to last but maybe this is just a 'morbid' rise in our interest. Who knows?

I would have loved to have seen Victoria wood live.

Acorn Antiques is one of the best paced observation comedy sketch show imo.
