I have deleted a whole books worth of words - sorry if post counts went down but it really wasn't a pretty discussion.

Back to death - and Prinny, no more cheese.

I think its time to sit and watch blazing saddles with a cold beer in memory of gene wilder.

That film still makes me laugh.

This is another saddening one for me. He was one of the big comedy names when I was growing up.

The grizzly Reaper is mowing, but I'd wish he'd stop.

Sad to hear about Gene Wilder. A good innings but still gutted to know a big piece of my childhood has died.

I can still remember about 1987 ish when me and my dad came home and mum said she'd taped me a film while we were out. Sat and watched Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and was genuinely mesmerised. Gene Wilder bought so much character to the film and it was the first film that blew me away.

The next week I spent my pocket money on the book, thus discovering the genius that was Roald Dahl.

Terribly sad news to read about Gene, he was ace in every thing he was in, stir crazy, Young Frankenstein , blazing saddles as the Wacko kid..I have all these wonderful memories of such a great comedic actor. So sad ...R.I.P.

Damn I'm shocked at that.

Strangely I was talking about his films with the wife yesterday and how you never see them on tv as often as you used to.

Obviously blazing saddles is a classic, but I have had a hankering to watch see no evil hear no evil and stir crazy again. Wilder and Pryor were fantastic together.

:(

If anyone hasn't seen it, you should check out The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother. Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman and Dom DeLuise are all brilliant in it.
