I liked the last two Star Trek films.... But that looks dreadful.

Cool find, Dprinny. Yeah, I am a fan of the Trek. The whole reboot with the alternate timeline has been good for the franchise. There's a lot of potential, especially if they go with the whole rookies/trainees/straight out of the academy angle for storylines. I liked both of the two films - the first one is still my favourite of them.

It's a shame that Alice Eve and her character - Dr. Carol Marcus isn't in this film.

So the director of Fast and Furious is now directing the new Star Trek film. This is like a dream come true!

Oh, rats. I was getting mixed up with a trailer I saw last week for something called Star Trek Renegades that looked laughably poor... this Beyond one doesn't look too bad actually

The idea behind renegades is not bad but the budget and man power to pull it off successfully is just not there.

So tired of these movies. Star trek simply does not work well as an action movie series and needs to be put to bed.

The problem there is a lot of people these days wont go and see a none action film.
Something like 2001 would not go down well with these newer Scifi fans as most of them are a bit dim and go to the flicks to turn off brain

ACTION!!!!! Hope the actual film is a bit more thoughtful who who knows? The next generation films made the series something that it was never meant to be. This new cast fit the bill more but as Prinny has said, this just sells better.

'This Summer'? Err... wot?

Looks awful. Looks like Enemy Mine with less room and more people. And no more or less desire to watch it.
And no, that was not a good choice of music for the trailer. In fact, it was an absolutely awful choice for a Star Trek movie.

I very much doubt that's the actual films score, that's usually one of the last things completed so the music in trailers is often from other movies.
