I have the bends and Sams Town.
I just spent a small fortune on Day and Age, but the seller clearly doesn't know what mint means so it's most likely going back.

This one is a very rare French release of The Return Of The Living Dead OST on vinyl... great punk soundtrack to a great horror movie. It is on my Ebay at the moment. :D

Agreed. Had a look on ebay but too high for me (although I was expecting a high price).
Soundtracks hold their value very well.
Let's see your soundtracks and OST's. I'll try and get a few of mine up.

No soundtracks for me. Well, one despite a lack of film for it. What we have here, though, is a not-far-from-complete (UK) collection of recordings from a group my name is a major clue for. Was working a few hours a week after school to have funded this collection (among others - to follow!).

First up - Love Missile F1-11 - UK 12" Japanese obi sleeve, Japanese 7", Jap 12" with lyrics and twin obi, Jap 12" Bankok remix with obi sleeve
Image

Next - Love Missile - UK 7", 12" Russian obi sleeve, 12" Spanish obi, 12" Spanish obi sleeve Bankok remix, 12" German obi sleeve Bankok, 12" Westbam remix, Spanish 12", USA 12" [Manhattan label]
Image

And finally - Love Missile - 12" soundtrack with posters (3 signed + sleeve :) )
Image

Next - 21st Century Boy - UK 7", 12", 12" German remix
Sex Bomb Boogie - German 7", 12" (signed) - - not shown is the UK Video-only single release [because this is a VINYL topic!]
Image

And - 21st Century Boy - UK 7" fold-out poster
Image

The Love Missile release is missing several editions. In addition to the standard 7" and 12" release (with a red printed obi), the UK released a number of other 12"'s all with obi sleeves (removable) rather than just the obi. Each was for a different language - I am currently aware of Russian, Japanese, German, Spanish, Italian. A Bankok remix was also released in the same manner and for the same variety of languages. Finding them all isn't easy. Whether other countries did the same mix of sleeves rather than just their own, I'm not sure.

The Sex Bomb video (I think it was the world's first video-only single) also includes another remix of Love Missile.

There's more, yet....

I've got a few cases of it and boxes of Cassettes too, nothing too thrilling apart from maybe the withdrawn cover Appetite for destruction and various picture discs.

I did try shifting some of it but seems the markets dropped again.

Well there was only one other one on the bay because apparently its rare as heck so I went a bit lower than that one and hope for the best.

Image

Sputnik is nearly done!

Next - Flaunt It - Box edition (not shown is the standard release)
Dress For Excess
The First Generation
Image

And finally, as with Sci-Fi Sex Stars, Sputnik tried to chart under a different name - Bizet Boys - Ride 'Em Carmen 12"
And a Record Day Special from Sputnik's Neal X's new group - The Montecristos - Love Missile F1-11 7" red vinyl [still sealed]
Image

Now for a few scarcities by other acts:

Malcolm McLaren - House of the Blue Danube 12" etched blue vinyl
Image

Malcolm McLaren - Deep In Vogue 12" etched with poster (on the reverse is an explanation of what 'vogueing' is, by Willie Ninja)
Image

Got more I might post of other artists I used to collect. Of those above (in all posts), there are editions that I haven't included as they are merely the stock issue. Getting late, so if I list more it will be later.

Used to love buying records. Only ever played the standard releases unless there was something unique included on a limited release; though those editions were seldom played. Haven't done the collecting thing for many years now, save for buying everything released by The Montecristos so far - got better ways of spending money, and a wife to keep happy. There are so many more to add to my list of favoured artists that I would like to get. Maybe one day.

Although CD's are so very convenient, there is something a bit special about putting a needle down. I still do that, but not very often. And whereas I don't mind the new gen iPods etc., as far as buying downloads is concerned, I really do not want to unless it is a download-only or unavailable on CD - it's such an impersonal, hollow, and of-the-moment thing to do. Vinyl is lasting because it is physical (CD's, too, though they don't have the smell), downloads are shallow and a bit disappointing.

Long live vinyl! :D

Quality disc that one. Got it myself, worth about £25. £30 on a good day.
