Did not know about that. Did see yesterday the picture disc version in HMV though.

Bah, I just picked up the Deadpool soundtrack.
Sadly side C has a constant scraping to it so it's going back to HMV.
Some of the presses on new records are terrible.

Yeah some labels and it tends to be the larger ones tend not take care when mastering for a vinyl release. Infact a lot of the time they don't make a master for vinyl

The following article is quite a good little read about the subject. It opened my eyes a bit more to the process. Don't worry if you are not into metal music with regards to the website it's on as it's about vinyl in general.

Also picked up from HMV Deep Purple "In Rock" with a exclusive marble colour vinyl.

I went mad on Saturday...
Picked Up
Manic Street Preachers Blue Vinyl
Sex Pistols Pink Vinyl
Pulp This Is Hardcore
Pulp His and Hers
30 Seconds To Mars This Is War
ELO Greatest Hits
Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool
Moby's Play

I also received
Pulp Different Class for Father's day

They all sounded brilliant until I blew my amp up for the second time in about 3 months :(

As everyone has been talking about Vinyl, I picked up a nice Goodmans Record player from the car boot sale for £1! It is belt driven and in very good condition. I will connect it to my amp and have a play with it. Also picked up Dire Straights Money For Nothing LP and a Simple Minds LP for 50p each. I haven't had a record player in over 20 years so this should be interesting.

It's my own fault. I've stuck it in a cubby hole with about an inch ventilation. Looking on the website they recommend at least six inches.
Mel was blasting out 30 seconds to mars at 70 and it just shut off then didn't come back on again. Just constantly goes to protect mode. I've unplugged everything but it still does it.

Goodmans amps are pretty decent, especially the mid 90s models.

Hmm. Like my games 'collection' my vinyl collection is more of a hoard, most having been purchased when they were new or acquired from relatives. As for what I actually have, it is fairly broad if relatively modist in size.

I have all the Yelo albums up to the early to mid nineties, I have most of the early orb, and Jams (KLF) albums, and various other semi-rare to mainstream stuff from the 80s and 90s, Jesus and Mary chaine, sisters of mercy, James, coldcut, art of noise, quite a few REM abums... Amongst many others. The most recent vinyl album I bought was The War Room by Publicity Service Broadcasting.

Am I the only one who still has video disks lying around? I did have two Panasonic players at one time, but they both died years ago. I used to like hunting around for video disks, so I suppose in that sense this was more of a collecting, rather than just an acquiring thing for me :?
