Black is considered to last the longest due to higher carbon content and also sound superior due to lower noise.

In fairness modern production techniques have made this a very small gap now as long as the vinyl has been produced to a high standard. I'm sure I read somewhere that the colour is add to aid the styli to track better giving better sound. Clear is regarded as almost the worst for sound just after picture discs.

To be fair to picture discs though, if the disc has been produced to a high standard they are almost as good as a plain disc. I have bought a couple in recent times and the sound is excellent with very low noise compared to my eighties produced picture discs.

Sort of vinyl related - but I have just seen that Technics are releasing new models of their infamous SL 1200 range - it's called the SL 1200 G. It's good to know that they have put it back into production. Of course - it will be expensive - so I'd recommend getting an earlier model off of Ebay or somewhere else. But - it's nice to know that it's back.

Yeah the limited edition 1200GAE will probably be about £4000 here. Way more than I would ever spend on a turntable.

There will be a non limited edition near the end of the year. How much that will cost, who knows.

They've already announced that....same price! Apparently because they threw away all the machine moulds so had to retool everything....

It shows how stupid they were for doing away with the model in the first place!

Yeah I remembered the other day they were going to be releasing something from a couple of months back but forgot to check what it was.

Had a look two days ago and my jaw dropped when I saw what it was.

If you like the special one colour it's already gone.

Today i bought Behemoth - Sventevith on vinyl. Seems to be missing the last track from the cd release but the last track on this one works well as an outro.
