REVIVAL Winter Warmer 2015 - 28-29 Nov, Wolves

*** REVIVAL RETURNS! ***

The best dedicated retro gaming event returns, with 'REVIVAL Winter Warmer 2015' on the weekend of 28-29 November at Brookfields Leisure Centre, Wolverhampton!

Many had been anxiously waiting on and asking for their next Revival fix and after some careful consideration and the recent departure of one of our organisers, we have decided it best not to hold a huge event this Summer - the time window to organise was just too small to allow for it this year. With the popularity of our previous events though and mounting support from previous visitors, we are instead holding a brand new event this Winter at another great venue in Wolverhampton, with direct access to the motorway for all you coming from further afield! This year's event features already include:

- Over 60 playable retro consoles and computers
- Over 35 video arcade machines and 5-10 pinball machines (unique for a smaller event)
- On-stage competitions and prizes
- Select traders offering various retro collectables
- Reasonably priced, fully licensed bar and hot food available
- New venue for up to 300 visitors per day, right by M6 J11 and with over 100 free parking spaces

The event page is now up on our Facebook page and e-tickets are now on sale directly from our ticket merchant here: https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/v ... 1/chk/af20. Tickets are priced at £10 per day/£18 for a weekend for adults, and concessional tickets at £5 per day/£8 for a weekend for children (12 or under), disabled users and their assistants.

It's worth mentioning now that this event is hopefully a precursor to returning again in Summer next year with another grand event, so that means as long as this one goes well we will have bigger scope to return in full scale, with a much bigger arcade and pinball presence. In the meantime, if you'd like to make any pledges, get involved, or are interesting in sponsoring or having a trade spot at the event, please put it in replies on this post or drop me a message through normal means.

Full event information is now up on the new website www.revivalretroevents.co.uk (under construction) and key information will also be posted on our social media feeds! Let us know if you have any comments too, and if you'll be coming!

That's great news Ste and I hope many more regular faces and show-goers will also attend! I've not had much chance to check in on these forum posts with all I've been doing in the run-up to the event so thought I'd let you know what's been happening. It's shaping up to be an excellent event with many more volunteers getting on board with equipment donations and plenty more content beyond our original expectations!

On the arcade front our vid/pin presence has increased even more with a total of around 50 vids/pins expected including golden age classics, Neo-Geo and multi-game cabs, candies, silver age gems, multi-player, racers, light gun and the odd cocktail and compact machine too. We've also managed to fit in a few extra systems on the console/computer front and there will be a few more traders than originally expected to pick up your pre-Christmas retro treats from.

The REVIVAL Membership Card scheme is also returning, allowing holders early entry from 9am both mornings of the event, which as current cardholders will know means first chance to get on your favourite arcade machines or pick the best of the rare items for sale by the traders, many of whom are participating in the scheme too and offering 10% off purchases to all card holders. If you want to take advantage of the scheme, you can pre-order your membership card when ordering your tickets and collect it on the door. Cards are only available in limited numbers so again it's advisable to pre-order as they may not be available on the door.

If you'd like to hear a little more about the event you can check out Retro Asylum's new 'bytesize' podcast, in which I speak to Dean about the background and future of the show: http://retroasylum.com/ra-bytesize-epis ... neak-peek/

In the meantime, you can grab your tickets and membership cards from our ticket vendor here: https://www.tickettailor.com/checkout/v ... 1/chk/af20. Tickets are selling very fast and Saturday especially is rapidly filling up, so as we cannot admit any more if capacity is reached, it's advisable you grab your e-tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets will only be available on the door if space allows it so don't leave it to chance - order now and don't miss out. Even if you've been to every other event this year, join us for the perfect end to the retro-gaming year and pick yourself up some early Christmas presents!

Looking toward to seeing many of you in November!

Appreciate that Woody; the hall is filling up as fast with visitors as it is with exhibits, with over 45 arcade and pinball machines now coming we've had to turn some great machines down for this one! Everything is booked, arranged and paid up and in pleased to say that although talk has been slow on the forums, it's been big on social media and from here on in its all gravy!

For those who'd been asking, it currently looks like REVIVAL will be able to return with another big Summer event in 2016, and have been talking to guests and forming new collaborations to make sure we have as much support as possible to make it happen. We've got a lot of ideas to bring new things to retro in a paradoxical kind of way! It will still depend on retro gamers supporting the Winter Warmer event though if we are to return to full scale, and you can be sure we will keep it fresh and strictly retro!

I hope those who came enjoyed the event, it went down amazingly well and the feedback has been brilliant!

We are now ready to go back into full flow next year with 3 shows; north, midlands and then south. So watch out for more news on them when it comes!

For those that didn't come here is a video of the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzw_2HayH8c
