Pachinko! Anyone else own one?

Post by oldtimer » Wed Jan 21, 2015 5:48 am

Im quite into Pachinko machines ,but ive never really seen any conversations about them on here.
I own a Sankyo Machine which i actually bought from the Pinball show at Aston Villa football ground a few years ago, it came with no power supply or anything ,but i built one up and also fitted a volume switch as these things are mega noisy being designed for noisy arcades in Japan etc.
Will try and post a picture if i can .

They are an acquired taste, but i find mine great fun.

Does anyone else have one?

I wish. Never played one but if I ever get to go to Tokyo I will make it a day one activity!

I'd love to play one of the anime ones or one like the machine below...

I remember back at one of Boyo's very early early retro shows there were a few Pachinko machines. Quite amazing seeing all the colours/sounds etc, tons of ball bearings flying around. BUT i didnt quite 'get' it.

After a couple of goes of getting ball bearings i moved onto the arcade machines. To me its a bit like having a fruit machine at home, bit pointless winning your own money (or ball bearings !)

I really want one.. I have been looking on ebay for a star wars one for a while now. they crop up occasionally but people always say collection only and they are way up north and I am in kent.

Would setting for a different movie based one but I definitely want one!

To be honest, they are really heavy and quite fragile, and if you add the weight of a big box of ball bearings (and u need a lot) it really weighs a ton ,but i guess where there is a will there is a way of freighting one in safety.

The Star Wars ones are real nice but quite rare as people tend to keep hold of them.
