I used to work part time for Electronics Boutique in Nottingham when the PS2 came out. It was unbelievable the ammount of people who tried to bribe you or pay double the amount to try to get hold of one. One guy offered £700 for one of the pre ordered ones and just wouldn't take no for an answer when we wouldn't sell him it. We also had someone try to get one out of the display case with a screwdriver and a hammer! Also when the Dreamcast came out before i worked their someone nicked one that was plugged into the display TV's behind the counter without anyone noticing. God knows how they did that.

Just looking at some of the scams on ebay and on the Net at the moment shows how some people will use someones desperation to get hold of something to make some easy money.

I just can't see how these buyers can't hang on a few months.

There is someone selling an XBox 360 (advert in local Sainsburys). It's the core system and they're selling it for something like £350.

Fair enough, if you pre-order an XBox 360/PSP/PS3 or whatever and WANT ONE to keep then it seems fair to be able to get one of the first consoles. But those people who buy them with no intention of keeping them and selling them at highly inflated prices, they're just spoiling it for everyone else!

Rant over. :)

Will be interesting if and when the region protection is cracked. From what I've heard, they aren't selling too well in Japan. If the region protection could be bypassed then that would make importing a tad easier.
