BBC News wrote:US actor Robin Williams found dead, aged 63, in apparent suicide, California police say
Kron 4 wrote:SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Officials are investigating the death of actor and comedian Robin Williams.
Williams was 63.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office said that Williams was found unconscious Monday afternoon at about 12:00 p.m. inside his residence in unincorporated Tiburon.
An investigation into the cause, manner, and circumstances of the death is currently underway by the Investigations and Coroner Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, officials said.
Investigators said that Williams was last seen alive at his residence, where he resides with his wife, at approximately 10:00 pm on Sunday.
Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made.
A forensic examination is currently scheduled for August 12, 2014 with subsequent toxicology testing to be conducted.

Wow I'm speechless

always loved his standup routines and any chat show he was on, as the guy was just so funny and always had interesting stuff to say.
Major loss.

Very sad but in some ways it's amazing he's lasted this long. He could very easily have gone the way Jim Belushi and others did much earlier on.

Really sad news - a terrific actor, brilliant comic and all round nice guy.
I can't imagine the pain he must have been going through.

Very sad indeed.
And as somebody who has suffered from manic depression most of his life I can totally relate to it too.

Really sad news.
You just kind of got the impression that he would be one of those greats that is just always around making films and the like until he grew too old. Did some absolutely brilliant stuff across all age ranges as well.
RIP Robin WIlliams

Jim Belushi is very much alive but his brother John isn't since 1982
RIP Robin!

Read about this this morning. Papers came in at 5am and only a select few copies of the Daily Mail had the story after a late print. Genuinely gutted to hear about it.
