DVD Help Wanted - Best non Xbox storage?

Hey guys and gals.
Just wondering - I have a ton of movies that I no longer have room for and what I want to do is copy them all to something - I had originally planned to buy an modded Xbox with 750GB Hard-drive and DVD2XBOX installed, but as that beaps guy just ignormes my messages and is useless and rude - I don't know what other options I have.

I want to be able to hook whatever media storage device I can get up to watch them on my TV, so what device other than the above mentioned xbox could I use? Need something that copies them with relative ease, and it would also be great if it had the option to add/remove certain scenes/chapters as I found with dvd2xbox - especially good for some "other" types of films I have.

Seriously - is there nothing at all on the market?
