^ Seeing as how it'll be a futile exercise anyway with no Terry Scott - NOBODY else could play Penfold.

Ha ha we're sounding like a bunch of old cronies ! Its like our parents moaning when some new band cover a classic from the 60's or that.

The audience will be obviously be kids (not us) so they wont care if Terry Scott or David Jason arent doing any voiceovers for it. Hope its a success but i'm sure older fans might be upset if things are changed (they have to be changed really)

We can but hope they nail its humour. There's not much around like it now.

The writing will be key. And the humour. And yes, they probably should get David Jason back. Maybe they could replace a retired Penfold with his brother instead. Called Dave, after Rodney. Who can do a similar voice though?

Don't forget this series is being brought out for kids of today; it isn't being made for us oldies who fondly remember the original. Chances are we'll hate it and they'll love it.

When I was in high school, our deputy head teacher looked exactly like Penfold. As I recall, he had a Penfold keychain that, I think, one of the students gave him. I'm not sure now if he was aware of the reason.
